so...

so i'm of british mother, french father, born in geneva, raised in africa, schooled all over the godforsaken planet (mostly in the parts of the world where the sh*t hit the fan at an askew angle, spraying more than the usual sh*t-hit-the-fan, such as: bangladesh, mozambique, france). Presently at university in Paris, studying english and french, living life as it should be lived if its going to be short, blindly, without restraint or any consideration for my futur or my potential offspring (lord forbid i ever produce any). Lone spinner since last summer; addicted to the sound of fire by my ears, cigarettes, short term sex-based relationships and most of the narcotics on the market. Positive aspects attributed to my person by the people that populate my surrounding: fun, witty, gentle, kind, generous, open-minded, open-legged, honest to a fault, and too trusting. Negative aspects attributed to my person by my person as well as the people that populate my surroundings: irresponsible, unreliable, forgetful, will-less, shy, addict, procrastinator of the highest degree and all around child inside a nearly grown up body. I'm pale skinned and dirty minded, my massive heart is resting on my palm, usually given to whoever will take it for a quaint, meager price, my family is the embodiement of dysfuncionality and I am the definition of a true slave to laziness. On the other hand, i'm told i'm good-looking, so that makes up for a lot of mental drawbacks. I love the world on weekends, and on mondays i would readily destroy it and all of its inhabitants. In my world, Mornings don't wake up, and Nights don't go to bed, Fire doesn't burn, and people don't hurt others, violence is only in movies, love is gratuitous and handed out freely like flyers to a party, and humanity is just waiting to make me happy. But that's my world, not yours, so if you want in, you'll have to be nice to me, because i'm the bouncer, the owner and the totality of it's population.

hug kiss biggrin

thanx for the welcoming welcome, much obliged.

i'm of the male gender last time i checked, and unless someone operates on me in my sleep it'll stay that way. indeed, parisian bridges are nice, i spin on them when its not this cold, but last time i was there alone i got mugged, that sort of discouraged me to return without flame-bearing backup team.

yaya, anyway, i gracefully accept the award, i will place the pin on my award shelf, next to "lowest tolerance to temptation" and "best high-school results for least effort provided" (i even got a gold cup for "most panicked in critical times" (critical times being times of no cigs, no buds, no tea, and no french bread left))

a big hug back to y'all

i must say i am quite impressed by your intro. very clever. i'd say welcome to the site but you've been around awhile, so instead i'll just give you one of these hug

pink is awsome, most of the fun parts of the body are pink, i like pink. i could drink from the pink sink for days on end, and--- i'll stop that now.

pounce, i visited your thread, r-rated, offensive and influential, downright corruptive, good stuff

elanna, indeed i'm back, and you called me yanni! makes me warm inside

i just had a general question, does it ever happen to any of you guys when you ponder a move that bugged you as you fall asleep, and when you give it a shot the next day it comes naturally without a glitch? happens to me all the time. i should try it with schoolwork.

Greetings people of the flame

Been a while since i posted anything, and seeing as how this is my intro thread I might as well keep you guys (the few who take their precious minutes to read this) posted on the haps and mishaps that have taken place during my recent time on this earth. Its not important, unless you're me, but i'm a curious little imp so i imagine you guys are too.

So...
So this summer has been a hectic and interesting period of life, full of interesting women (interesting, defined by myself, would be: cold-hearted cows with the power and will to trod on an already broken heart after having tended to its wounds with a flaming tongue, and all this without the merest hint of remorse...), spectacular fireworks and lots of goosebumps (due to the frigidity of the accursed ocean that seperated my two native realms [namely france and the UK]). I have completed my Licence (ie: a bachelors degree) in English language, literature and history, but seeing as how they (they the unnameable, the shameless, the loathsome twerps of the french educational administration) have lost one of my grades i wont be officially a graduate untill it is too late to apply anywhere. To punctuate this event, my mother promptly returned from Africa to hang out with her kids, and, in the midst of her clinical depression due to a lithium defficiency, she expressed her illbeing by having two epileptic seizures in my arms as i cried out the agony of having a dead mother. Laying in hospital, tied to her bed like a medieval lunatic, uttering incoherant psycho-babble which effectively traumatized me beyond repair, she progressively got better, whilst I attempted to break the record of the most quantitative ingestion of psychoactive substances in recorded medical history... and I of course failed miserably and vomited... I have become a parent to my mother, and this reversal is not without consequence to my person, for i am deeply broken inside. Its interesting that i learnt more about my mother from ten seconds in a hospital than after twenty years of upbringing... perspective means everything.

After all this, i find myself not very different from the person i was, before all this. Though i know now that laughter is more precious, tears are useless, knowledge is invaluable, and love is a cursed blessing.

I'm going to the south of france tomorrow to try and sweep all this under the carpet, or at least into a corner for the moment. Next year i have to complete a 100 page thesis, learn to drive, make some money and fall in love again, because without love and sex this world is truly without meaning.

I stand alone, in doubt, and terrified of the unknown. I have my curiosity, my intelligence, my quick tongue, and some firetoys, and hopefully everything will fall into place before i reach the end of the line.

Now, people of the flame, do not imagine i am a melancholy person who never smiles, and i'm not just rambling hoping for empathy and lines like 'i understand'. Simply, the beans had to be spilt, they were growing inside and were about to burst from my swollen abdomen. I feel better now.

Anyway, time heals and is precious, so i wont linger. People take care. I missed the EJC, which is a shame because its only up the road. And i've taken up staff, which is interesting (dictionary definition) but bruising. And i have a nice tan and i'm single, so never hesitate. biggrin

warm and flamboyant greetings

thanks for the comment bird, you seem to be the only one with a heart in this place; or rather the only one with a heart who visited my intro thread, and since this isn't the hippest spot in town i'm not surprised.

but i felt it was unwise to leave my thread on such a miserable note, so...

things have perked up in the daily existence of yannicus the frenchman, not to soaring heights, but its still not bad up here. i went to a feria in bayonne in the south of france for a week, and it was a golden opportunity to spin for the crowd. for those who don't know a freria is a basque festival, where they let the bulls run in the streets. (in fact, the main object of this festivity is to consume a maximum of booze, all the time, and to walk the streets getting more and more drunk). spinners were much respected and acclaimed. I spun every night and everywhere in the city (fountains, riverbanks, churches, bridges...) it was a gorgeous feeling, like rediscovering a part of myself (the bold and boisterous part of me that seems to be unlocked by the fathomless, mindnumbing, crippling qualities of alcohol, though i was careful not to be too bold when playing with fire with blurred vision and handicapped coordination). i met lots of spinners and had mountains of congratulations and even one chick squeezed my butt for free. yay!

it was a little crazy though. i hung out with this japanese guy called shingo who had no fear of fire, or, indeed, any fear for his own or anyone else's safety. this guy lit his wicks in white spirit in a street that was about three meters wide and packed with people, and i do mean packed. the crowd parted for the flame and regathered at the end of each burn. i actually smacked a big ugly french townswoman in the breast with a flamig wick, but she had enough fat to be thermally isolated (im sure she could live on the sun) and was too drunk to really do anything anyway:

and i did get really drunk, like insane drunk, that kind of drunk where nothing disgusts or surprises you, the hardcore kind. im not used to drunkenness, but there was so much of it i couldn't refuse. i mean, in the morning there was nmo water but only pastis (french aniseed based liquor, quite scrumptious) which is a little rough on the liver...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? right.

anyway, it was a blast, and i learnt a bunch of new tricks. i reccomend the ferias to all spinners and all drinkers too, but bring a tent and make sure it is watertight... (there were a few drawbacks, but in the end it was worth it)

anyway, its late here in senegal, and damn hot as hades in the summer. im going to shower, for the benefit of the community: biggrin

regards, and please post here, i could use the publicity and i dont know anyone in africa.
