Hey everybody!! I thought about cutting and pasting my old one here, but I figured it would be more in the spirit to create a new one that's more up to date with my current status!

My poi history:

My name is Andy, and I live in Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. I'm 21 years old and an avid electronic music fan. I started spinning glow sticks/photons about a year and 8 months ago just because I had seen people at clubs and raves doing it. Didn't really take it seriously, it was just something fun to do at the club. Since then I have become much more serious about it. I bought my first set of chains from Adam Rice about 6 or 8 months ago, and have been burning for about 5 months or more. I'm not particularly great, but I'm not bad either, lol. You won't be seeing me in any Circle of Light videos, but I don't suck horribly, lol.

I don't currently use any other toys, but I would like to get into staff and maybe play with some devil sticks. I think fire breathing is realy neat, but I don't really feel the urge to take the risks involved. I'll leave that to the non-wimps! lol!

My music preferences:

My favorite genre of electronic dance music is trance, though I love good house, DnB, and techno as well! Some of my favorites are Dave Ralph, Max Graham, Digweed, Sasha, Johan Gielen, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Daniel Bailey, Rob Tissera, Andy Farley, Dave Aude, Donald Glaude, Judge Jules, John Aquaviva, Derrick May, Misstress Barbara, Andy C, DieselBoy, Dara, AK1200 ...just to name a few.

I'm very proud of my hometown here in Dallas. There are quite a few people in the dance scene making a name for themselves and putting Dallas on the map. Our local breakbeat PA "Carbon Community" is on Moonshine records and doing very well. Some local DJ's/producers are getting their tracks played internationally by Judge Jules, Richard Humpty Vision and others!

I like all kinds of music though. Classic rock, modern rock, old school soul and r&b, funk, blues, all subgenres of jazz/bigband. Some of my fav's are Led Zepplin, Stevie Rav Vaughan, Bugs Henderson (local guy that's kinda popular in Europe), Jimi Hendrix, Eric Johnson, ZZ Top, AudioSlave, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Clinton and Parliement/Fukadelic, Allman Brothers Band, The Who, The Beatles... and tons of others.

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Oh no, those gremlins are distracting enough as it is. Imagine if there were karma-sutra ones.

No don't.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

Hey there Andy! wave

Quick question: should the "Big" part of your handle be taken seriously, or is it like when you call a bald guy "curly" or a fat guy "slim"?

There is this guy here in the town I live in (in South Africa) called Klein Pete ("Small Pete"). This guy is about 6'8" and is absolutely enourmous. Mind you he is a bit overweight, but not obese - He is just HUGE. His wrists are a least as big around as my biceps (and I'm fairly well built) and he must easily weigh 2-3 times as much as me (I'm 185 lbs).

Anyway, they call him "klein" because he actually is the smallest one in his family.

Enough of that.

excellent taste in music you have there.

Viva la Texas! beerchug

wait a minute... I know of an Andy from the Dallas area who is really into techno. You haven't ever met a woman named Astrid from Austria have you? (It's a longshot, I know, but I have to ask).

Hmmm.... Astrid from Austria? Don't think so. However, I went through a period of being unbelievably messed up for a long time, lol. So it's quite possible that I could have met someone at a rave or something and totally forgotten them by now! Sounds familiar, but I wouldn't want to make you think I was that person, lol, I really don't know.

On the "Big" issue... It's not an opposite thing. I'm about 6 feet and 260 pounds. A little overweight, but a big frame to begin with. However, the name "Big Andy" WAS given to me by the girl I lost my virginity to ubbangel Not trying to brag or anything, hehehe.

Just by the way, I'm spinning in front of a large crowd for the first time this saturday!! Wish me luck guys! weavesmiley
