Do a five beat isolated weave, then remove a beat on either side and unisolate it.

if the poi get stuck in your toes too often just lop off the offending toes. keep the big one and the little one - our tests show that three less toes will result in 86% less poi snaggage.
either that or look up bluecat's 'toe wraps, catches and throws' thread and make use of your fukc ups.

as far as general weave help, i found it helps if you have the poi in 90deg planes - having the planes parallel just makes weaving loads harder.

anyone know how to fix a plane? i broke one the other day and i can't seem to get it back together again...

Irregular or broken planes are a problem in poi. There's not much you can really do about it, its caused by conceptual space warping rather than any movement of the wrists or elbows.

Whenever your plane breaks, you should stop spinning immediately and walk to a different spot. You don't want to shove your hand through a shattered piece of space, or you could end up doing the left hand side of your weave in an entirely different country or planet.

1112, Welcome to HoP! Please do a search as this topic has been discussed many times. If you're still stuck, try looking at the 'poi lessons' or perhaps you can find someone in your area that also does poi!

Also, keep in mind that it's perfectly appropriate to rename moves to account for moves you can't do. Simply place your poi on the ground and call it "the weave!" see... You're doing it!

Holy crap that made me laugh.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

Drat, knew I'd been missing something

Anway as far as suggested paths for relearning I'm sure it goes, "Over, Under, OOWWW!", "Over, oopphhh!! curl up in ball".

Good luck

*Oh, just for a minute,* my bed said.
"Don't lie to me," I grumbled.

try this: suck on a bottle of kero for about a minute then you could be nailing a frongs ass to the wall and you will think your doing the weave.

WARNNING : DONT SMOKE FOR AT LEAST 1 DAY AFTER

JinX : If it doesnt kill you it makes you stronger

The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earth worms dizzy.
It will however make cats dizzy and cats throw up twice their bodyweight when dizzy.

no, NO pants 'till you're off the lactose again, dantana!

also, it is not the weave that circles our bodies, but the universe which rotates around the aura of the poi.

ponder on this, oh pantless one.

I think i found a small area of warped space in my living room that magically enabled me to weave within two days of first picking up poi
only in front though, if i try it backwards i break the lightshades

ummmmmmm, even though im horrifically new to all this, a real amateur, i have found one thing that helped me enormously that i havnt seen anyone else mention to newbies etc....if you are right handed, concentrate on and be aware of the left, ignore the right cos it'll just do its thing happily, and vice versa....after i did that everything just started to flow wonderfully
