They are so much fun once you know what your doing( first day learning i smacked myself in the face and got a blood nose) But dont let that deter you. The effects at night are mind blowing. It's a great crowd pleaser at BBQ and partys. They're at lot better at the dances I attend than glowsticks on the same cords as they are not as likely to actually hurt someone and are also nicer to look at. The color change is subtle and fluid and the battery life is pretty decent. They are heavy but not hard. The outer material is prone to getting scuffs and dents like dress shoes though. "The first thing to mention is that our order came incredibly quickly. I want to say that it was just over a week between when I placed the order and when I received it - during December the height of the X-mas season. The glow balls themselves are incredibly cool. The colors are strong. There was no problem attaching them to the chains we'd bought from HoP a year earlier. The main thing I was worried about was how well the ball would be able to take punishment. We're not super-abusive but we are still learning and the balls take their fair share of bonks and bumps when we practice with them. So far no problem at all. They seem to be pretty tough and resilient. The ball itself appears to be made of a hard rubber - say as tough as a tennis ball. The electronics/LED's seem to be very well made and we haven't seen a flicker despite any accidents spinning them into something. All in all we've been so happy with them that we're planning on getting another set as a gift."
