"I love little bit sticky ball feeling - ball fall in hand and stays there. Ball is soft to touch - so it's impossible to harm fingers or head in accidental catch. :) Ball is extremely durable but maybe too big for me. I juggled in all possible places and conditions (public shopping centers dirty city streets outside grass and so on) and they show no wear signs all I have to do is wash them with soap. I recommend these balls as best training balls and especially they will be great as upgrade from beanbags."

"It was recommended that this size ball was perfect for newbies so I went ahead and bought it. I love it. The only thing is it is too big for my hand. My hand is roughly 16cm long and 8cm wide so it feels quite bulky. I prefer my 2 7/8 ball. I will definitely be using the larger one once I start body rolls though :)"

"I'm a contact juggling ultra beginner and don't have any experience with other juggling-specific balls, but after watching videos and reading tutorials I decided to pick up the 100mm SIL-X ball. It arrived quickly (from NZ to the US) and immediately I could feel the benefit of the size, weight, and texture of this ball compared to the oranges I had been previously using. The silicone gel inside makes balancing and catching much easier, and the overall feel of the ball makes handling it while practicing much better. It's actually really enjoyable to work with."

It was pretty unanimous: hold off on the acrylic, the ball to start with is a 100mm SIL-X. Playing with this ball, I can only imagine that an acrylic ball would've been intimidatingly challenging and ended up as a beautiful shiny thing on a shelf. Home of Poi had the best price, and the ball I purchased on a Sunday evening, arrived in Los Angeles just 8 days later! I'll definitely be ordering from HoP when I'm ready for an acrylic. Thank you!"
