However they do hurt a bit more if you hit yourself with them and lets face it we all do but they are also very durable (you'll break your head before you break your poi). amazing comet effect and the chains are astounding quality and easily adjusted. "These are only my second set of poi since I starting to spin so I may be over-stretching myself but they are absolutely fantastic! The extra weight's letting me do some nice slower spins (and teaching me to be a little more cautious - watch that crotch :S) and they even look pretty cool unlit - not yet had a legit' chance to fire 'em up. The only down side(?) - they're so much fun I keep giving myself blisters!!!"

"I love these I had a pair of these before with Nylon handles and i got leather double loops on my new one. The difference is incredible I have more contol and balane I can hit my Anti-spins and isolations perfect. They're nice and heavy for great balace yet light enough for control. I recomend these if you're ready for more difficult moves and stalls and isolations they're perfect."

Best I've found so far...
"This is my second set of fire poi and I was very pleased with the construction and slick appearance (on fire and off) of the monkey fist knots. Only minor nitpick would be the leather grips which have a Home of Poi tag sewn between the loops that I don't much like because I'm not big on branding. When I cut off the tags the loops make a squeeky sound when swinging the poi but it's not severe. Also not the highest grade leather I've ever seen but plenty good for the job."

"Before these i was just using the cathedral wicks that are about half the size and i'll tell you i'm loving these ones i do recommend you have some experience before using. These do have some weight to them but to me it is exactly what i want the perfect weight haha and they happen to be heavier than my triples which is nice too great job hop you never cease to please me"
