I actually ended up ruining one of my beam poi by kicking it. I hacky sack a lot so aim isn't an issue when changing direction from reverse to forward.. but I've broken electrical stuff...

Excellent Selection
"I bought these never having spun poi let alone held them before. They weren't overly light but soft enough that when I smacked myself while learning (which happened more than I would like to admit) it didn't hurt terribly. The colors are bright and beautiful in the evening. If you're just starting these are a great choice. I'm thoroughly satisfied."
