Hello everyone!

Been poi spinning for about a month, so i'm a complete beginner, but it seems to me i wont ever stop doing it.

Not much i have to say about myself really. There is a tendency towards tremendous enthusiasm, which usually kicks me in the butt as soon as i start putting it to use.. so one of my goals in life is chilling out:)

Name: Gal (ya i know, can't help it, pronounciation similar to Baal)

Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia (Central Europe/North Balkans, neighbour to Italy)

Hometown: same as above

Birthday: November 28th, making me a Sagittarius

Age: 24

Occupation: Anything, really...

Sex: Male, altho my name is contraindicative...

Favourite Foods: I have to say chinese to that..

The speed of the unladen swallow is just this side of the speed of bad news

Toys: Sticks!

Hobbies: they tend to change too fast... the constant would be music i guess, but only in electronic form so far

Education: Successfully failed my attempt at a physics college

Favourite books: Too many to list, but in the pulp fiction genre i have to say George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. I love sci-fi written in the fifties and sixties, but any genre is good as long as the book is good. oh, and Discworld!

Favourite Movies: Stalker, the first Alien, Blade Runner, Three Seasons, Akira, and a whole lot more....

The Destroyer is unable to penetrate the badass-field Godzilla generates.

Tv shows: Boston Legal, Monty Python, Black Books, Allo Allo... I don't watch a lot of shows lately, tho

Music: Addicted to Wax Tailor right now.. but of the constants - Biosphere, Autechre, the old Squarepusher, random Goa Trance tracks i've found throughout the years, Mouse on Mars. Love the golden age of jazz, too much of that to list. Same for rock, mostly stuff like Pink Floyd, early Jethro Tull, Jefferson Airplane, stuff like that. Lately took to the light side of hip hop, mainly De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest.. if anyone knows more stuff like this, i would really like to know...

I come from a repressive Nutella-worshipping country

Welcome to HoP, Gal grin

You win bonus points for Discworld, Akira, and Nutella *o*
And successful failures are the best kind!!

I've only been spinning for two months myself. You'll find a lot of great people (and information) here at HoP. Also check out PlayPoi and FlowToys if you haven't already. These three websites + the community that follows them will dramatically increase your poi arsenal grin

Welcome to HoP! Laasya is correct extra points for Nutella and Akira but you also get points for Jethro Tull and Jefferson Starship/Airplane, as well as other oldies but goodies such as De La Soul.

Blade Runner deserves it's own paragraph grin

Enjoy your stay!

You should have gotten You Bastard to help with your physics.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the links smile

Strange, there was a professor we called "You Bastard", didn't help me at all...

[insert paragraph on Blade Runner]
P.S.: can someone explain to me how does one come from directing Blade Runner to directing Robin Hood?!? Ridley Scott should watch Akira, if only to see what 'epic' means.
I shudder to think there's a new Alien coming...

oh, forgot to mention all the Ghibli flicks, especially Grave of the Fireflies.

anyways, hope i'll get to be a useful member of the community, but i need to get infected with some actual skills first smile
