hi! I found my interest in poi when I would go party with a close friend of mine. Mountain, beach, or black light he would bring his sock glow poi. Really visually stimulating to say the least. It was a great addition to any atmosphere especially when you got a nice rhythm in the background. Be it music or the people.
Then he busted fire poi. Sold.
I thought i would explore the neighborhood for tennis balls though believe it they make sure to collect there over hit balls around our courts. With lack of funds I thought it appropriate, and a better build of appreciation for this art to make my own:
1.Blow two small balloons
2. tie string on the end
3. mixer of flour / salt / water to create playdoughy substance.
4. cover ballons in dough and hang to dry for a day or so. Allowing gravity to craft the spheres
This was fun for a couple days. Until the creation exploded into pieces. lol
In sight of this my sister came to me with knee highs she didn't need and those serve a better creation thus far.

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* I had to look up marmite. vegemite is NOT happening. The idea of hazelnut sits better with me. Great in coffee too (the nut, not nutella... although...) havn't had the pleasure of tasting any of the 3 though.

Interesting recipe for poi though.
Drop some rice or dried beans down a sock and it will be better.

it wasn't a great medium as far as the poi is concerned. but i needed to spin something to keep my head from spinning.

Aston, the rice thing is BRILLIANT! Not to mention it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as fire heads or tennis balls

Surprised it has not come up. It is one of the almost standard things that comes up with new poiple.
In terms of weight, at least 100g is good, my favourites at the moment are 160g.
