Aaaah yes, the splendid circular Summer Solstice Sunrise Celebration on the windswept steppes of Southwest Somerset.

I went last year too and I am wracking my brains trying to think of a big desert... as in Gobi? Kalahari? Went to a great wedding in the inflatable church though (before it blew down)

Loved the idea of the circular layout but in practice it created a strangely empty centre (did I mention windswept...) The bonfire was about the size of a match box and it was braving hypothermia to cross the space on the amazingly cold last days.

And I have had 'em rolling in the aisles at my descriptions of trying to poo in a pit whilst balancing on a plank and holding a sketchy piece of rag across the 'door' in a gale. Or pee in public in a haybale. Or the water-free shower. Or the septic sauna. (Of course YOU all knew in advance that UK festivals rock, but not in the areas of litter control or quality ablutions...and become instantly constipated for the duration. And it's dead handy that e's inhibit urine flow..)

Then trying to find something to eat ubblol Apart from ID Spiral(who kept selling out) and Buddhafields, they were the doziest collection of cafes in the world.

But actaully I am just mentioning these things to say how GOOD it was! Cos despite all that I had a lovely time! And were I in the country I would definitely go again this year when they have had time to get it a bit more together. Dreadzone. mmmmmm Dreadzone.....

In fact I'd go again just to experience the real live Young Ones episode of the Bristol crew packing to get on the road (lova ya Garthy, love ya Sy, you all rock!) hug

Rob, do you mean 40° ? Or is it a somewhat cool Yookay summer? Being wet in 4° doesn't sound like a consolation... (it sounds like last years sunrise festi)
