Hello, i am emily at exeter uni (UK) studying colouring in (geography)... I went to australia in the summer and saw loads of friends spinning fire poi and staffs and was amazed. Iv now come back and am determined to learn poi (i was hoping this might be the easiest to do eventually with fire - am i being totally disillusioned?) anyway if anyone has any tips or knows of anything going on in the devon area then it would be very appreciated smile

wave Emily and welcome to HoP, i'm sure you will get mixed responses to your question as to whether poi is easier to learn. Cause staffers will tell you staff is and poi people will say poi is. But personally being a guy i took up staff and pick it up rather quickly. Poi is still developing for me and i can say it certainly is a lot more painful then staff. ubblol ubblol

howdy emily! welcome to HoP!! biggrin

I personally, think that staff is much easier to get to the point where you are comfortable with fire... but once I started with poi, I lost interest in the staff. to me, poi *feels* better...

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
