Hi, I've been a juggler for about the last 13 years - but can you believe i've only just bought my first set of poi!!
I was looking for something a bit more relaxing than the continuous thump of club against hand.
I live near Belfast and have a double act www.babcockandbobbins.co.uk - we mainly work through a company called Streetwise. I already know a few poi people through the circus community over here - so plenty of people to learn stuff from. But I like the look of some of these DVDs - i might have to get the old credit card out and do some shopping!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Hey there Dave smile

Great to see you here - hurrah for spinning things biggrin

For y'other hoppers - Dave is one half of the fabulous Babcock and Bobbins act.
Uber-tight, funny and lovely show... smile and lovely people too biggrin

And he's showing an interest in poi or staff wink ubblol

Dave... good choice on Nick's vid... you're going to learn lots...

Our next fire gathering is Tuesday 5 Sept, so hopefully see you there?

Take care
Clare x

PS: In the events section, there's a thread called the Ireland Events thread (or something)... most of the Irish poi/staffers would post in there about festivals, gatherings and suchlike.

Hi Clare, Hopefully I'll get down next Tuesday, i might even light up the fire poi for the first time devil devil
I made some sock poi with some of my crappy old socks last night so i can practice in the house aswell - the kids thought it was hilarious, but with the weather turning I still want to do a little bit each day so that my body gets used to what i'm trying to do.
Are you doing anything for the enchanted evening at the end of the month? Chris and I are doing fire juggling - should be a nice gig.

the DVD came a couple of days ago so i'm getting plenty of motivation to keep on practicing. I'm still hitting myself on the head fairly frequently though.

Ahhh... yep, we're doing the UV stuff again for them... we wanted to do fire again too, but they said they had someone else biggrin

Glad it's you guys!!

Did you enjoy the busking festival?! Well done for that biggrin

Hmmm... if it's good weather on Sunday afternoon I might try to get some people together in the park to play... are you busy?

Since everyone else is either at the Electric Picnic or a juggling convention somewhere, we should really get out too smile
