Name: Anthony

Country: UK

Hometown: Dunstable

Age: 20

Sex: Male

Occupation(s): Former physics student from KCL

Favorite Food(s): House of Steel Bolognese, chilli taco/quesadillas, crackers and cheese, meatball Subway

Favorite Color(s): Bakerloo Brown and Russian Imperial Badger Purple

Toys in terms of poi: Poison UV pink/blue and UV yellow/blue ribbon poi, waiting (with glee!) for my recent order of a pair of cathedral ball chain poi from HOP...

Toys (other): Buster 3m kite, 1946 restored bicycle, Zagi and Sohpisticated Lady RC gliders (which I haven't flown for too long), black and white cat (more of a pet than a toy, presumably), 12-string guitar

Hobbies other than the obvious: Guitar (see above), kite flying, Tube Challenge, quizzes

Education: A-levels and university degree in physics

Favorite Book(s): The War of the Worlds cool, LOTR, The Timewaster Letters, London A-Z...

Favorite FILM(s): Monty Python/Holy Grail, Spinal Tap, LOTR

Favorite TV show(s): University Challenge, Look Around You series 1

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) Ultimately something to do with flying aeroplanes, which I used to do (gliding) and absolutely loved. I miss flying very much.

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Jeff Wayne (War of the Worlds), Genesis (Gabriel era biggrin and some EARLY Collins era), Bowie, Gathering, Jem, Big Leaves (any Welsh people with the album, I'd be very interested to know where you got it). I'm not Welsh, incidentally, but English and one-quarter Scottish.

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): gah! I'd rather have a microwaved Mars bar... in fact, that with ice cream would be incredible... with dairy ice cream... yeeeess.

Other stuff: I was down at Clapham Common last week / the other week, by the bandstand, with a load of people including Tam, Phil, Ricky and Edi (spelling?). I understand that some of these folk are on here and some aren't having developed a bizarre aversion to the Interweb... I'm the guy who, along with his girlfriend, tried spinning for the first time that night. Thanks to Phil for letting me borrow his poi - it was fantastic! biggrin

I want to go to Spitz but I'm not in London regularly any more. frown

Poi-wise, I'm learning the 5-beat weave at the moment, which I haven't grasped yet, and trying to do the butterfly consistently without having the poi collide all the time.

Favourite move is currently the 3-beat weave turn and variations thereof. It looks so fluid and effortless.

Other than that - hello, everyone!

Hello Anthony, welcome to HoP!

wave weavesmiley

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
