I'm Chris. I've recently moved to Australia, living in Canberra, of all places (yay for politicians?!). Originally I'm from Sydney, but have lived most of my life in Christchurch, New Zealand. Born on the best day in the history of the world, aka 22/05/1984, i'm a 21 year old hetero male student.

I'm about to start studying towards my PhD at the ANU (Australian National University). My favourite food is the classic; steak (it has to be very good steak though... and cooked just right). My favourite colour is by far blue. (especially blue light.. .moth to a flame!).

my toys are devil sticks. i'm retarded with poi, and otherwise haven't really tried anything else. As for hobbies, I don't know. I listen to music, I ski, I snowboard (a little)... I pretty much try anything that comes my way. Trying to break away from computer gaming this year though.. that's sucked away far too much of my life.

Education: well I more or less covered that before, I've got a BSc. Hons from the University of Canterbury, which is letting me start my postgrad research here.
Favourite books are Terry Pratchett. I almost own every single one, but not quite... I tend to impulse buy when I see a new one too. Favourite movies is a tricky one. There are just so many that are good for entirely different reasons. Garden State is one of my top's for all time (at the moment). The Game was a very good thriller, although now it's a bit dated... there's just too many!

I don't watch much tv, especially because i don't in fact own a TV, and i'm not yet used to what there is to watch in Australia (or the timing). Little Britain is excellent, as is Top Gear.

I'm planning to continue living here and get my PhD, no matter how much work that requires me to do! Then maybe become the eternal student, or an academic... I don't think I'd like to work for a corporation, because there isn't enough independence allowed in your research. Too controlling. Not to mention intelectual property rights...

Mostly I listen to Coldplay, although at the moment there's been a lot of Michael Buble. Generally rock music is my thing, or easy listening laid back kinda style (dub styles... fat freddy's drop and salmonella dub (NZ bands) are so good for mellowing out!).

And rather than answer favourite ice cream flavours (i love ice cream, don't get me wrong) i will say gellato flavour is summer berries. Gellato rocks my world so very very much.

oh yeah, and i'm a vegemite person.

So there ya go! nice to become a part of this world. I wont be the most active forum poster, but it'd be cool to get to know some people, especially if you're in my regions :-)

and well done if you got this far through it all ubbrollsmile

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
