I've been listening to this song all night long. It is truly the most beautiful piece of guitaring I've ever seen.

Bob Zabek-Walk on Water

Truly mind blowing.

firstly you need to edit the link, you have https://
in the URL twice, one needs to be removed for the link to work fully.

secondly, that is good, but if you want to see some true masters look for Joe Satriani and Stevie Vai they are amazing guitarists smile

Funny you should say that. This guy is using a Jem. A steve Vai signature guitar.

Oh and by the way. This guy is better than Vai. And Yngwie Malmsteen is better than Everyone!

Malmsteen's just a show off! Uber fast neoclassical rock with more sweep picks than anyone this side of Batio, and still rocking harder than anyone. But still a show off.

I have to say my favourite guitarist is still John Petrucci of Dream Theater. He's just so cool about everything!

Malmsteen was fantastic when he came out, but he hasn't released anything actually new since the 80s, all his new stuff is just repetetive pseudo classical wanking, none of the old flair or bluesy influencee.
Bob zabek's tune 'journey of the butterfly' is more of a song, bit easier to listen to. His tapping style's fairly advanced but his sense of phrasing does get a bit samey after a while cause his tunes are based alot on physical ideas rather than melodic.

a show off yes. But if he CAN play that well. why should he hold back?

I dont think thinks its REALLY showing off just doing your best at what you do.

His playing has become almost a parody of what people expect to hear when they listen to him. All the tracks are ultra cheesy, and the solos are almost predictable classical licks with no 'out of the box' timing or melody. Playing fast isn't a problem, as long as you can keep it interesting, & not abuse it or neglect the rest of the track.

Have you heard his album Fire & Ice?

I consider it one of his best. And i think it kinda shows how versatile he can really be
