I thought this may be helpful to the many newbies.... and everyone really.
There are a lot of 'my first burn' threads so this will cut down on those and help the moderators out... so please feel free to get excited or... whatever really!

I lost my fire cherry with a Fire devil way back in 96. But proud to say I recently passed on my fire addiction to my good friend Scott who had his first burn just last night.

I had my first burn last night. Dut was kind enough to lend me his wicks.
I was very timid at first, but now that I've done it I realize that it makes poi so much more fun. I'm going to get some wicks of my own at the first opportunity, and hopefully I will get some material worth posting in all the space they've given me.

hell yeah congratulations man!!!! yeah it's like once you've had your furst burn it's over after that, u just can't stop:) have you been spinning for a long time?

well not 2 weeks after posting the fact that i did my first public spining im here posting about my first burn, had a friend come down with all his fire kit, well he does fire breathing, fire eating, fire staff, and fire poi, he let me have a go!!!!! and what a buzz i got the sound of them going past your ears WOW got to do it again some time!!!! would get a set of my own but i cant afford it right now

OK so this isn't just a bump.....I DID IT!!!!!!! I had my first of many burns this last weekend. Oh it was so great I burned all weekend......Once I started I just wanted more and more. WooHoo what a great experience!!!!!

I had my first burn last month. it was with my new lady and my mom. I had never shown my mom poi, or any other glowstick dance type stuff. she was blown away! i had a blast, myself. i wasn't scared at all, nor could i feel the heat. i've burned about a dozen times now.

nothing too ground breaking, as i don't have a trained cameraman, but a lot turned out great! check em out!
I've never seen a supernova blow up, but if it's anything like my old chevy nova it'll light up the night sky!

Wahoooo!!!!! Had my first burn tonight and it was amazing. I absolutely loved the sound. Got to burn twice tonight and cannot wait until the next chance. Poi look much better now that they are charred a bit and not shiny new. What a rush!

my first burn was alright...but i used lighter fluid instead....it didn't help with the fact that the wicks burnt out within a week.....
I give hope to others but I keep none for myself.

well................after a few weeks with no fuel, i soaked my fire staff and for my first move i try'd a burn off................
OH MY GOD!!!!!! the flames where huge!!! 
vleast to say i caught it on my wrist with the hot end of the staff, but it's now wrapped in cling film with loads of moisturiser underneath to stop it drying out. (it's only a surface burn but it did sting)-----------------edit three days later----------------
