I think i can do a decent corkscrew, however, how do i enter the move. the only way i know how to start it is by having the poi motionless at my sides. what is a good 'linking' move for it?

Yeah, I think twisting the weave (so into a bit of a windmill) is the easiest.

You can also do a wrap after lifting a butterfly above your head.

Or you could start doing the windmill and simply bend forwards into the corkscrew

you can "bend" a 'weave -> windmill' so that it's a 'waeve -> corkscrew'
if you look at TF-Leif_poi (@ www.taming.fire.com)you'll see a good exemple at 00:54

I like the twisting the weave idea, but I usually turn my body with the corkscrew as I put my poi up high, I find it makes the plane bending transition just that much smoother. I like the corkscrew,,I just have problems remembering to do it.

All the thru wraps turn your poi 90 degrees so from wall plane at your side you thru wrap and the poi follow inot low plane or ceiling plane, perfect for corkscrews, and vice versa, from windmill thru wrap into 2-3-5-7 BT weave, whatevers more comfy. Thru wraps are hard as fak to learn, easier with one poi then transfer to both .

dont make peoples heads turn, give them whiplash.
