Hi all

I finally joined HOP. Well I think I joined ages ago but god knows what my login details were.

Im 22 and have been spinning poi since I was 18 when I was a fresher at uni in Birmingham Midlands UK. Stopped spinning as much for a while and took up devilstick and juggling abit more but keep seeing all these groovy throw and wrap moves lately which I absolutely hafta learn so my sock poi have made a reappearance.

Started circussy type stuff when I was 15 when I worked for a week at the National Eisteddfod in Bridgend, S.Wales working for a small Welsh Circus Group called Brolly Circus based up North, whom I still work with on a casual basis. Probably best gig I had with them was working at the Christmas in Athens festival this christmas just gone - whoop!

Hm anything anyone wants to know ask away and Ill answer smile

For now, au revoir

i didnt dance as a youngster, i did gymnastics for 10 years which was all i can call anti-therapy. which is why eventually i quit. but it was the reason i was able to get into circus (of which i knew nothing about) performing acro. through circus then i went to a centre based mainly on circus which also ran other classes and did a couple of dance workshops. made friends with the woman who ran the classes coz we were similar age and she lived in my village. so she let me go to other classes she ran for free so i did that and loved it through sixth form. i also did art at alevel even tho i didnt do it as gcse, but ahd kept it up in my spare time and went on to do dance art and drama at uni and ran the circus society for a year. only sod in life is....the arts are really hard to work employement wise in unless youve got bags of confidence....which i dont have enough of in that sense. however lucky enough to still work with brolly who i do feel comfortable with because ive been working with and friends with them for so long. wanna get back into my art and design though....but finding the time is a nightmare once studenthood stops....life is just dull work and bills and housecleaning for me these days - blah (except of course for monday circus club - yay)

Hi Lou!
I read in another post that you know Lee Louise in Chester...

May I ask how? As I am a resident local? And it is, after all, a local shop for local people...

Hi Will

yea name is louise but most people call me daisy, which i prefer, or daisylou smile

I know lee louise coz i live(d) nr rhyl and chester is awsome. love it love it love it!!!!!!! its my annual christmas eve shop with my best buddy and we always have a silly fun time. but i go there as often as i can. walked round the walls part of the way at least and watched the boats on the river and ate icecream with my man last time i was there. 2 of my fave street musicians play there too - ed alleyne johnson on electric violin and andy martin on guitar. nowhere better on a sunny day than listening and watching the buskers in chester.

falmouth could be tricky....i have a full festival summer and need to somehow fit some kind of job in between... plus im skint and have hadta miss 2 festivals this year already....bjc and bungay....:(

sorry will not going bungay no money. am going to wales instead and watching nofitstate circus in colwyn bay and going to birmingham pride
