Looks like we are here first!

As you can probably guess due to the speed in which this video has been done, it was not done by me! (i may have given a bit of advice wink)

All credit for this one must go to 2bags and he really has put alot of work into it, im pretty sure you can guess where to find it but for all those who do not know where i live:

SFS - then go to Dowloads - SFS videos

Its about 7mins long and 47meg

Personnaly i think this video really is pusing the way in which we make them, it captures the whole weekend and most of its highlights really well and will definately bring back great memories for those who were there and it will make those who were not want to come next time!

biggrin

Good work Mr 2bags, everyone else - enjoy

Im gonna go watch it again ubbrollsmile

gelfling: you don't need divx to download it but you will need it to play it.

no you don't: the VLC player will play it too (it plays really anything, even without codecs) https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Cheer PoP - too late though for the DivX worked.

Anyways - well I have to say how disappointed I am - what an anticlimax - very badly edited - utter censored to be quite honest. Well I'll stop ranting about Constantine (very poor film starring Keanu Reeves) wink and start raving about how much I enjoyed this vid:

This vid is awesome - I loved the split screen stuff - it meant that I could be amazed by three things all at the same time rather than the usual one thing - problem now is that I feel some what spoilt - will one screen ever amaze again - if the quality of this spoils my enjoyment of future vids then I won't blame you guys - instead I'll blame other video posters for not reaching your standard. I also liked the way I could spot myself in the mass burn footage biggrin

Cheers,

pop: i don't really know anything about codecs but i'm guessing that
the player you suggest has the codecs incorporated, so divx is still
required to play the vid, you're just suggesting a different way of
downloading it. the download you suggest is also bigger than the
one i was suggesting (however, in the long run it's probably more
useful).

course i could be wrong so i'll wait for someone who knows about
codecs to come along and correct me.

don't think i'll be doing the falmouth 4 vid gayle. sorry but i spent the
entire falmouth 3 filming and missed half the fun.

nate: there might be a dvd of the raw footage at some stage. there
we go, that was pleasantly vague.

fluffy: if you had been at falmouth 3 i guarantee i would have put you
in the video. i could happily spend all day watching you spin smile.

vanize: humble apologies, but i didn't get any footage of you. it's
impossible to film everyone.

i also missed getting any footage of firepoise with her big purple
hat and fire hands, but i'm sure they'll appear in another vid.

thanks again to everyone who enjoyed it.

cheers.

eek

you didnt like the ways it was shot

some of the secens without the cookie shots would have been shite!

the shots where does so that although you noticed them, they didnt really intrude or damage the narative of teh film, and for once keanu didnt look ilke a piece of wood stubling about on screen, he looked right!

i cant belive it!

Thanks for sharing, it gives someone like me who was the only spinner in his highschool and one of the about 5 in his whole Uni of 30 thousand to look at and wonder. Maybe I'll be able to go to England again sometime soon.

That was PyroWill. As far as I know, he just rolled up a magazine, stuffed it into the neck of a plastic practise bottle, then doused it in fuel.
The bottle held up surprisingly well, it was a bit blackened afterwards, but not melted at all.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Kael, you're just in the wrong city. Come to San Francisco and we'll show ya some spinny goodness.

Keep in mind the reason Falmouth happened was because even the UK kids are all spread out... I'm sure there's the equivalent of Salt Lake City somewhere in the Midlands...

This weekend, we're doing FireDrums in Santa Cruz. We'll definitely have more fire than Falmouth... maybe a shortage of cute British birds, but some amazing spinning. Expect a video.

That video was excellent. Not only did the good vibes come through, but it was technically well-done/edited as well. Loved all the split-screen stuff; that contact fire (was it Durbs?) was pretty cool. I watched it with one of my co-workers and she was like "that boy is CRAZY." You UK kids truly rock. Was the pink-haired young lady Pink?

I don't have a video camera but will be taking pics at the FireDrums gathering this weekend -- a very similar affair to Falmouth, sounds like. Will post 'em in my gallery when I get back.

Orbit.... what are you trying to say? us brits dont understand...?

You should come to falmouth, to judge it, a 7 min vid, shows nothing in comparison to the amazing happenings of such a wonderful event..... despite it being the best spinning video i have EVER seen.

smile

Orbit you seem to have to boast about the amount of fire in santa cruz, to be honest mate, fire is only a small fraction of the magic falmouth produces... its for the comunity, friendship, and sharing experinces.... not just the fire content!!

Bluecat,

You could do the same thing with a glass bottle too but then you run the risk of breaking it when dropped. How about a wooden bottle (not hard to make if you have access to a lathe) with metal around the top and some wicking attached?.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

awesome vid. I watched it twice and I wasnt bored at all either time! smile

Some beautiful shots in there too. The fire twirler, waves and moon was my fav, followed by the guy on a grassy hill doing contact with an out of focus grassy hill in the bkgnd and the nonchalance smoking n contact.

unicycle firewalking was awesome too!

Frodo, mate... I was just telling Kael that brits DO understand his situation -- the isolation of being a poi spinner in the middle of nowhere.

I almost made it to Falmouth. I was even in the UK at the time! Alas, my girlfriend and I decided to go to only 1 weekend of spinning, and we decided on the BJC because I'd never been to Scotland and I wanted to see Bluecat and Meg.

Anyhow, I talk a lot about the fire, but you're right... it is about the community. I'm glad to say that the community here [edit: here = San Francisco Bay Area, California] is very strong indeed!

There aren't that many stringers even, at least "competant" ones? wink

Most just spin the glowsticks around like a loony hoping not to hit themselves. That's why it is hard for actual stringers to get any respect. (Real spinners, hah!) ubblol

The glowstringing phenomenon, if I may say so biggrin, is the result of - once there are actual decent glowstringers frequenting parties and clubs there are more people interested in learning- and websites such as gs.c promoting the dance of glowsticks on strings.

frodo: since you're not a "real spinner" (whatever that is) any more i don't know why this concerns you. i believe there is a juggling thread in the "other toys" section, perhaps you should be posting there instead wink.

the fire spinning in san franscisco is amazing. lots of incredible spinners and a very friendly community surrounding it. orbit: i honestly think falmouth was better than the bjc, next time we need to persuade you, bluecat and meg to come to falmouth instead smile.

pyrolific: the waves and the moon shot is cole spinning and the guy smoking while doing contact (i think that's my favourite shot) is prophet. the unicycle firewalking is a guy called jacob who i don't think is registered on hop.
