Hi, I'm brand spanking new to HOP, never even new it existed until I stumbled upon it recently. Only just starting to get my sea legs as far as the technology thing goes. Just typed poi into a search engine and BAM, Here I am. And right glad I am too. Been spinning for years on and off, started in South Africa and the enthusiasm kinda waned once I got to the UK and refused to leave the warmth of indoors for months. Years later I am regaining my passion and learnig to accept that 26 degrees celcius is warm.
Think Hop is amazing, looking forward to learning and living and loving and growing.

yes thats the one...and it got worse when we got home... we all have to move out in two months because they need to fix the bathroom. buggerrrrrrrr!!!! I dont want to move...I dont want to have to move to somwhere less-than-satisfactory and live with people I don't know/like. And I have two weeks to do it in as I will be in South Africa for three weeks.
I'm royally screwed and very very unhappy...

No it's not nice but you have to detach yourself from the emotional ties you have to the place and just focus on it as a task that has to be completed. You all thought about going house-hunting together?
Yes you will have memories tied to the house but the house was nothing without the people who will still be in your live regardless of whether you all live in that house or live separately...

Thats the thing, two of the housemates have expressed the posibility of maybe moving in with other people as it would be easier (there are two rooms becoming available and they are around the right time). It's not just that. I have to find somewhere in th efirst two weeks of January for the end of Feb, or I have two weeks when I get back. Thats an impossible amount of time. That means I cant do anything for christmas or spend any money when I go to SA as I will need it for a deposit, so my only holiday in two years is ruined...its the end of an era, yes we will still see our friends, but it wont be the same.
There is no positive to this, it's messed up an already trying time and creating even more stress in an already stressful situation, it's made the belt extremely tight, it's unsettled everyone and it's put a damper on the one thing that made everything ok.
I'll get over it eventually, but this one thing after the other malarky has a habbit of making a normally joyful person really sad...ALL THE TIME!!!

yeah..on the bright side, we don't have to worry about environmental health anymore and can really make some noise. I've already got decks sorted and were going to hook up 4 extra speakers. And it's going to be mostly breaks,so they'll be feeling the vibrations in Jamaica ...

Life will always be throwing crap at you. You just need to know when to start building mudhuts...
You will still have your friends. Friends who love you and care about celebrating your existance! (see below)
You still have all 7 limbs (trust me, I counted)
I'm sorry that your housing situation MAY, or probably WILL affect your holiday plans. If so postpone is probably the worse thing that can happen. You've not got a window where you can only go this once and never again! South Africa will still be there (Unless the UN have anything to do with it but that's for the Social Discussion thread...
)By your own admission you've survived worse - being homeless for one thing and look how well your life turned out then! Best thing that happened to you!

fair enough. I cant postpone going to SA, I'll lose my tickets (non-refundable) and my holiday allowance has to be used in January as I'm carrying some of it over from this year.I can cancel, but I cant postpone, but theres too much to loose. If push comes to shove I'll just stay in a hostel and give my stuff away...or burn it, I'm not that attached to it anyway...Lee and I have decided to try and find a three bedroom place before christmas, and a third housemate as that seems to be the cheaper option for Brighton...

Marie has a lovelly 1 bed place in southampton a bit spare if you need somewhere for a week or two

Thanks buddy. I'm not going to Africa now so I can sort somewhere to live and move our stuff while she is there. Good little wife I am Colourful but not very bright.
