So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

I was even seen wearing a white Stetson -like cowboy hat on Saturday night, or so rumour has it. ( Supposedly. I have no recollection of this.It was quite the party. They could be attempting some sick and twisted form of blackmail...)I will deny everything, even the menage et trois on my car hood, if queried. spank

But they were really really pretty boots, with flame like patterns on them, and they made my legs look really fine...ubblol Sigh. I am going insane. Obviously.

More insanity to follow later when I have some time to write out this weekends adventures...

Mand: Well, still feeling a bit under the weather- a dry cough's the most annoying thing.. will go away eventually but it's pesky. Chest is feeling a bit sore too, but I say it'll be alright by the end of the week? Think I need to get my poi, sticks, whip and play it out of me!

Played around a bit with the whip yesterday, got a nice under the leg move now (whip in right hand, whip goes under left leg, start cracking motion with handle, lift right leg, snap!).. Works well hehe.. Just want to get out and play more!

Andrea: Banshee cat now eh? Like MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! *shriek* owwwWWW!!! smile?

Cowbow boots eh? Give it up Shania.. you're not going nowhere.. fast. ubblol Cowboy boots and a whip.. hmm. Wait. You didn't mention a whip.. gah.. I can't stop talking about whips.. ubblol

Pip: mmm. 4000. And a bit now. Bad dog? redface ubblol

With humans,
we understand the idea of good and bad,

of evil and very, very good,
saintly, I suppose.

But with animals -
what, in fact, is an evil giraffe?

"I will eat all the leaves on this tree.

"I will eat more leaves than I should

"and then other giraffes may die.

"Ah-ha-ha.

"I am an evil herbivore."

It's very difficult to be evil. "I will hide berries
where no one has seen them. Ha-ha."

But with dogs, we do have "bad dog".
"Bad dog" exists. "Bad dog!

"Bad dog, stole a biscuit, bad dog."

The dog's saying,
"Who are you to judge me?

"You human beings have had wars against
people of different creeds and colours

"and I stole a biscuit?

"Is that a crime?

"People of the world!"

"Well, if you put that way,

I suppose you've got a point.

"Have another biscuit, sorry."

biggrin

Gnor: A rack of whips eek! I so wish there were a whip shop here.. how much did the best one cost? Where was this shop?

Andrea: Wow.. That stuff should all stay.. leaf skeletons ubblove! And umm. Got to love the contrast between the naturey shamanistic tokens and fake handcuffs ubblol No car at the moment myself.. Though when I get one, in it will live all the best stuff. hehe. It's all planned. No room for passengers.. only stuff ubblol What kind of car's yours?

Did ya see the start of the word list for you in my thread? Check it out, I will be adding, you should too!

I actually use the leaf skeletons to make impression on the silver I work with, one of my favorite things. So much of that stuff, I have no idea how or why it got in the car!The note warning me about stuff int he fridge cracked me up though- if it was anything like the car, bound to be frightening!

I am adding to my rather eccentric house rules, a new one stating that all visitors must take at least one deer with them when they go...

That should get you to some pics of my work, and the pendant that looks like a falling flower and the one with the brown stone , beside it, are both made with silver textured that way... The skeletons are delicate, so I roll them with extreme pressure through a steel rolling mill. They crumble to dust, but not before leaving their patterns, if I have calculated the pressure correctly!

Just saw the movie an "inconvenient truth". You should all see it. Sucks as a movie( visually, it is like being at alecture, but a really good lecture!)However, a must see, cause the information is really really really important!!They also have a website, I think it is www.climatecrisis.net
