I'm such a dad... I had sunscreen in my backpack when I took the boys to the parklands and the city yesterday... so we were all protected for a day in the sun
and @ earthcore last weekend, when a couple of people whinged about the sun/heat etc, I pulled out a great BIG 2.5L container of 30+, which I keep in the jerry ALL the time, along with bags of canned food and a 15L container of water... the jerry is ALWAYS prepared ... so... moral of the story is... if you're going to go doofing... bring a dad with u...!!
oh... and u know what's really good? assuming you either forget the sunscreen, or it was so damn hot u got a lil bit burnt anyway... keep some aloe vera gel after sun stuff in the fridge... feels *SO* good on overheated skin...

Aloe sun gel, but make sure it has menthol in it! Aloe is great for the healing, but the menthol takes the sting away and cools it down!

I was thinking the other day about when I was younger and never wore sunscreen and used to lie out in the sun. Last weekend I always made sure i had my water and sunscreen and kept reminding people to put it on. Sunburn is just too painful...especially when you have friends who like to slap it.
I love aloe vera..We have a lovely plant outside..maybe I'll break some off and put that in the fridge instead if I get burnt.
I'm starting to like the sound of having an air conditioner...we've never had one..dad put one in the window a few times but it melted some of the extension cord away....and kept making the power cut out. Not that safe or energy efficient I don't think
