So I thought why not introduce myself to this wicked community for all over...
I'm a bloke in South London in the UK, South African by birth, living here for themoney and kicks (well, certainly not for the weather). I was cycling home one day a few weeks ago and thought, as one does, 'why not start fire-staff twirling'. So I did.
I am just practicing on a long and short aluminium practice staff I made at work (I have access to workshops at work - yay!). I find some moves are easier on long and some on short staff, so I alternate just to keep interest.
I wanna use FIRE!!!!
Sorry to bellow like that, but I want to find a London group of twirlers to burn stuff with.
Any help appreciated.

where in south africa you from - I lived there last year (in Potchefstroom of all places!
er... hope you aren't from Potch.).There are like a bazzilion fire peeps in london and they have regular meets and are really lovely, if a little touched in the head. One will come along soon and ask you some variation on what you favorite color is.

Soooo...Vanize, I sympathise...I grew up in Durban, but worked for a while in the North-West Province...and Potchefstroom is not exactly what I would have chosen for a whole year. Go back and see all the other lovely places, yeah?
Pink, thanks for the heads up on Spitalfields. Could you be a sweety and email me on the Brixton meeting details? I live just up the road, sorta. I'm at tootster@tiscali.co.uk. Oh, and I must say DAAAHLING that pink is just scrumptious...just not on me.
Gidg, bird, So, cheers too. I love the pics, especially the one of Gidg on the ground with the long staff. Pretty cool to see a non-time-lapse shot and just the actual staff and flames. Very nice.
