Hi everyone! I don't post much on HOP, but thought maybe it's about time I set up an introduction thread.
There's so much to say that I don't even know where to start. I've been spinning poi since the end of July, 2002, when I saw some friends from my Burning Man camp spinning fire. I lit up for the first time on Monday night at Burning Man that year. On Tuesday, I caught myself on fire for the first time. Since then, I've tried to meet as many poi spinners as I can -- in California, but also while travelling. I've learned from soo many different people that by now it's ridiculous to try to list my influences.
I'm fairly active in the San Francisco Bay Area poi and fire "scene" (if you can call it that), but there are so many spinners in the area that I doubt I've met everyone or been everywhere... (I swear I am really not obsessed with trying to meet as many spinners as I can)
As I write this, I'm on the tail end of a visit to London. My girlfriend lives in Camden, so I have a wonderful excuse for travelling here and meeting another community of amazing spinners.
One of these days, I'd like to get off my arse and put together a magazine about spinning. Oh yeah, and getting myself a job would be nice, too.

Yes, Vixen, I do like kissing... but you knew that because I was smooching my girlfriend at the London Juggling Convention. And as I recall you were quite friendly with a certain other HOPer.
Rob, I almost went to Scotland, but decided that if it was this f*ing cold in London, I'd better not go any further north. Maybe in the spring...

Alright, for those of you that haven't heard, I burnt my left arm a while back (almost 2 months now). I tried to catch a fire staff with my elbow as it was getting away from me -- next time I'll just let the damn thing hit the ground! Wound up with a big blister - I'd say 1.5x3 inches.
The arm's been healed up for more than a month now, but there's still a big discolored spot on my arm. Hopefully, that will go away over time, but at least there isn't any bumpy scar tissue... so I think I treated it well enough.
Keep your eyes on the Videos section, y'all... I'm working on editing together a few vids.
