Hey there everyone,

Well, now that I'm close to post number 300 I thought I'd do an intro thread... it seems like I'll be hanging around for a while now biggrin

Edit:

Yep, this is all changed cos I'm not feeling as sentimental as I was when I wrote the last intro.

I'm 28, live outside Belfast in Northern Ireland, run the fire performance group FirePoise (www.firepoise.com), like to travel and good music.

My myspace page is www.myspace.com/clarepalmer

Take care

bye

I thought this joke was worthy of bumping this old thread biggrin

Tony Blair is visiting an Edinburgh hospital. He enters a ward full of patients with no obvious sign of injury or illness, and greets one of them.

The patient replies,
"Fair fa yer honest sonsie face,
Great Chieftan o' the puddin race,
Aboon them a ye tak yer place,
Painch, tripe or thairm
As langs my airm"

Since Blair is confused, he just grins and moves on to the next patient. This patient responds to his greeting...

"Some hae meat and canna eat it,
And some wad eat that want it.
But we hae meat and we can eat,
So let the Lord be thankit".

Even more confused, his grin now rictus-like, the PM moves on to the next patient who immediately begins to chant,

"Wee sleekit, cowerin, timorous beastie,
Oh whit a panic's in thy breastie,
Thou needna start awa sae hastie
Wi bickering brattle..."

Now seriously troubled, Blair turns to the accompanying doctor and asks, "What kind of facility is this?.... do these people have mental problems?"

"No" replied the doctor, "This is the serious Burns unit"

Righto.

It is time I used my HoP shop credit... and I have decided to make myself some fire rope thingies.

I've done a few searches (but noticed that the links from the relevant pages only brought me back to the main forum page - not anything useful at all) and have come up with the following dastardly plan... let me know what you think... smile

Long welded-link dog chain with already-attached ring (for the handle).

2 metres of 12.5mm thick kevlar rope macramed around the chain, leaving 10/15cm of chain spare at the top.

Finished off with some kind of knot.

I haven't quite worked out a few points, such as:

How do I fix the rope to the chain?

Will 2 metres per rope be enough?

Is 12.5mm thickness too much or not enough?

How do you tie a knot? smile

I am sure that there will be friendly suggestions to do a Durbs (yes, please biggrin) - but I have (searched)... and hey, don't be mean, at least I didn't start a new thread ubbangel

Anyways, if anyone could be arsed to help out, please do... if not, I shall experiment as usual biggrin

hug for all

I think I may be going mad.

Does anyone remember a few pages back in this intro I posted a link to two kitten cartoons?

One of them was quite rude, but had a disclaimer?

Hmmm. It appears to have disappeared. Not just '*deleted*' but the post actually appears to have vanished.

I didn't get any PM or warning about it's disappearance. Pah.

Anyways... if anyone still has the link, can you post it here again? I was looking for it last night to send to a friend.

Thanks hug

Actually I'm not going to post a link to either of them. And do you know why?

It's not because I'm being nasty or unduly cruel. It's just that you've forgotten something. Something that is pertinent to the whole issue of you being unable to find the links in your intro....

PM or email me if you can't work it out. ubbloco ubbangel
