no i'm in England.

there's a member of the royal family with the same birfday as us too. She's called Princess Michael of Kent.

I don't know why she gets to have a boys name when she's a girl. must be a royal thing.

Jaux - now that I have the dates I need to go and check my calendar. I don't know if it is the first weekend through Wednesday or the second weekend through Wednesday that I'm house sitting. I think it's the first, I'll get back with you sometime today for sure.



We will also be spinning on December 19th, the weekend before Christmas. Which reminds me, I need to go update the calendar.

Check the calendar for the Portland Fire and Drum Jam, but I'll send you a map and further details. Turnout? That is all going to depend on the weather and who is in town. If the temperature is below 40F I don't even go. We can normally count on six but we've had as many as two dozen performers show up. The nice thing is that you don't have to spin fire to spin. We have people doing glows and even regular practice poi. In my opinion the best thing about our get togethers is that we have drummers. A live drum beat is the best to dance to. If you don't come up with anything LEDs you can borrow my glows. I have a blue and a red set, the only thing is that they are real heavy, 6oz each, and some people don't like to spin with them. But they can be seen two blocks away. biggrin



Don't let anyone push you if you don't think that you're ready for fire. I've seen some people make majorily bad mistakes because they were talked into it when they really didn't want to.



I'm into Country Music and Ballroom dancing myself which doesn't lead into spinning. I've heard that there are some good ones around but I don't know if they allow spinning. I'll check with some folks to see what we can come up with. I'm open to listen and/or spin to anything as long has it isn't rap or the screaming meemee's.



If you are going to make it for the following weekend it sounds like you're dates are going to change a little. Same days, just the next week instead?

OK, I finally have updated the calendar. The two firespins here in Portland are on December 5th and December 19th.

FWS stands for Fall Winter Spring because they don't meet through the summer, though they do meet every Friday. It's a very very small group with a steady two in attendance. Because of gas prices I can only afford to travel out there once a month, I spent $1.97 a gallon today. I'll check to make sure that they are planning to meet the weekend that you are here.

And no that didn't make any sense to me at all, I'm not tracking well right now because I've just spent the last four hours creating presentations for the Germany trip and it's past 10pm. To play it safe I think it would be better if you just gave me dates.

Darn! I knew I forgot something. I'm pretty sure that I'm house sitting the first weekend, but I need to confirm it.

And bring your fire toys, I have a stock pile right now because of summer BBQ's. We can share.

My glows are actualy things that I've made up with supplies from a local store. Nothing premade.
