I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Loads of people have taught themselves to be great spinners.

Thank you for the welcomes! I did manage to purchase the DVD with my practice poi so I am not without lessons - just so much more fun in person(unless you reeeeally like pusing the pause, reverse, play, pause, reverse, play button on the remote!)
I can do a few moves and am determined to spin with fire before going to buringman in August! So far I can only spin for about 5 minutes without managing to bonk myself in the head When I can spin for 15 minutes without hitting myself or getting tangled, I will light up!
