This. Sucks.
I'll try and keep it brief. Me and a good friend of mine like the same girl, she likes him. As far as I'm concerned that's the end of it and I'll just have to suck it up. BUT, he has a (less than honourable) history with her best friend, who I happen to car share with every day, and he keeps telling me about how much they like each other and how they both feel bad about her friend and how is she going to take it and how unfair it is that someone he really likes finally likes him back and all sorts of other stuff I really don't want to hear given how I feel about her as well. Apparently I'm the only one he can talk to about it for some reason. I've managed to avoid getting involved over the weekend by pleading poverty as it's still a few days to payday but I've had a message asking if I want to go out for a beer tonight. Aside from the fact I know he's going to want to talk to her I really don't want to. I am genuinely skint and I'll going home to an empty house so was looking forward to an evening of just chilling out. I'm sure he'll offer to shout me a couple of beers and he'll probably offer to come round if I tell him I'm staying in on my own. I feel really bad continually blowing out one of my best mates but I don't want to spend time with him right now until I've dealt with the situation in my own head. like I say - This. Sucks.

After seeing them together it is pretty obvious they like each other so normally I'd be quite happy to sit in the background and let them get on with it, I'm old enough and ugly enough to have seen it before Trouble is he seems determined to bring me into the middle of it all while all I want to do is sit and feel sorry for myself a for a bit and then get on with things. Last week he badgered me into going to a place where I knew the two girls were going to be and I'm pretty sure I was just an excuse so it didn't look suspicious him turning up on his own, he was protesting his innocence a little bit too much when I pulled him on it. Not a nice feeling really.
Pah! I don't like rolling around in all this self-pity, I'm too short for her anyway!
