I got bored so I decided to change this again.
Name: Elanna (remember, folks, "Ela" is spelled with one 'L' not two).
Age: Himitsu da.
Location: Central Jersey, or Newark, DE.
Hobbies: Spinning, music, chainmail, slackline walking, martial arts/weapons, anime, video games, reading, skating/dancing, sleeping...
Spinning for: A few years, but nothing to show for it.
Favorite toys: Staff, fans, poi, eating torches, slackline, a nice piano, my NES
Books: I love to read, so there are few books I've read that I dislike. I prefer fantasy novels, though.
Movies: Anything by Mel Brooks, The Last Unicorn, The Princess Bride, any of the Monty Python films, Pirates of the Caribbean, LOTR, The Princess and the Goblin, the old Disney movies, the list goes on and on...
Favorite color: Blue.
Favorite websites: HoP, of course.

That's what I said...
I think I'm supposed to be doing this "work" thing once I get to Japan. They also mentioned something that began with an "s"...can't remember what it is, though. Apparently you're supposed to read boring textbooks and do this "work" thing. Dunno what they're on about...Lunatics, the lot of them.

The word that you are looking for is "study" it is interchangeable with "work". Both "study" and "work" take away from "play" and "fun" and should be avoided at all costs.

I was feeling nervous while I was finishing up my packing, but I'm fine now.
I woke up this morning to my cell's alarm and for the life of me couldn't figure out what the hell was making all that noise. I thought it was my car or something, so I kept grabbing my car keys and pushing the buttons on it. It took me ages to figure out that my phone was yelling at me to wake up.

Never fear! I shall be online! Just maybe not when you are...there's that whole 13 hour time difference and all.

Oh. My. Gods.
Now, I've been to many countries before...I've even been to China before, but this trip was just...ugh.
13-14 hour flight from JFK to Narita, 2 hour layover in Narita, 1 hourish fligh from Narita to Osaka, 45 minute bus ride from Osaka to Kobe....I am exhausted.
I'm loving being back in Japan, though. I've missed it a lot.
And I even brought Tarcarac with me so I'm using him instead of the compies they have here with their confusing Japanese keyboards. The flight to Japan was interesting, though. I watched two movies in the beginning, then I got up to use the bathroom, found some of my classmates and ended up sitting on the floor in front of them for almost the rest of the flight just talking about random stuff and playing musical chairs every time someone got up to go get something. The flight attendants kept asking David to buckle his seatbelt when he was sitting and they said nothing to the random girl sitting on the floor.
I must say that sitting on the floor/playing musical chairs is SO much better than sitting in a cramped air plane seat for 14 hours straight. I brought my toys with me in hopes that I can get some practice in every day before class. (yeah, right.
) I'm thinking that maybe it'll motivate me to get out of bed in time to eat breakfast. And I have to post a picture of my room. When they said the beds were like bunkbeds and are lofted, I was thinking a normal bunkbed or lofted bed, but I definitely wasn't expecting what I got. It makes being lazy really hard. I think that's it for now...I feel funny. And tired. And kinda light headed. And I'm probably making no sense at all...Ah, the joys of sleep deprivation, excessive travelling, and jetlag.

Umm, there's not much to enjoy at the moment! It's 12:30am.
And we have a midnight curfew 'cause the doorman guy goes to bed at 12 and locks the doors. So unless I want to sleep on a parkbench or something for the night, I have to be back in the building by 12. Sucks, huh? Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

It's nice to know that you made it there fine, at least you didn't miss any connecting flights or anything.
Think of the curfew as being a good thing ... you can use the time to do the "S" word.

Bad, Gidgie!We went shopping today, which was fun. I got stuff to make breakfast tomorrow morning. I'm charging everyone money for it, so the food'll pay for itself, which is nice.
And I got me a yukata and obi! They're soooooooo perdy! When we go to the festival at Osaka, I'm gonna wear it, so pictures will be up in a couple of weeks. I still need to find sandals, though...and a fan. Guess my friends and I have to go shopping again. I kinda like the whole relaxing and spending the day doing whatever thing. When classes start on Monday, it's gonna stink.

Gidg, being in class for three hour blocks actually wasn't as bad as I thought. It seems to go by a lot quicker than my hour long class during the normal semesters.
We get tons of homework, though. And we have a test every day in class, which stinks, but it's a lot of fun so far and I'm learning tons. No...not yet, Patrick. And no ninjas, either! What's up with that?!

Actually I think that you're going to be suprised how those daily tests are going to get easier. I've always found it easier than having to remember the subject months later.
Small tests, leading to the big one at the end of the term helps. Well, at least that's my opinion.
