Hi....My name is Brandy, I just recently joined this website, and just recently started spinning poi. I am interested in getting groups of people together to come out and spin!!! We could start small, then if there are a lot of people interested, we could arrange a place for a few days or a weekend. Or if there are any groups meeting and spinning that i could join along with, that would be great, too!! I'm new to this, so would like to correspond with anyone who wants to talk or share moves. I live in Virginia, so would like to meet people in this area, or the east coast.

welcome to our lovely home away from home (or would that be home in home, or home in work, hmm, i suppose it would depend on where your computer is). sorry, i digress. i don't know any fire spinners in virginia, but try the directory. and poke around on here and say hello! my thread is a bit r-rated just to warn you. and dyke boy has a free hug program going in his thread. tea, cakes, apple cider, can be found in many rooms, including narr's and mand's. and mand has a lovely rasberry jam ice rink right now (or least last time i checked. oh my, imagine the mess when it melts!)
anyways, welcome! and please leave your shoes at the door! (pogo sticks are allowed however)

Ok, so more about me......I work all the time, which is sucky...but sundays are left for mimosas and long drawn out mornings...which I'm having right now...I live alone with my cat, two dogs...and two birds, so not really alone. I've only known about poi for a little over a year, and started spinning fire at the beginning of this year. I spin with the River CIty Burners....which is much fun, we perform for various functions...weddings, the whole bit. anyway....I've tried and tried, and have so far only pulled out three people from the conservative virginia surrondings to come and play with us. So sad
I like plants because they don't talk back, and chocolate because it is yummy....what else would you want to know??

Heya BrandyH, I hope to meet you and the River City Burners sometime soon. Maybe we could all meet up this summer at Transformus, the southeast regional burn. I'm pretty sure another big fire troupe from Florida will be there (Fire by Riz) along with a bunch of other spinners.

It's in the North Carolina mountains held over a weekend sometime mid summer. I don't think they have picked a date yet.
Transformus is a lot like Burning Man but without the extreme environment. I can't tell you how much fun I had there last year. That's where I first saw poi and have been hooked ever since.
