Now before everyone starts flaming me i have searhed i didn't find anything that really helped me about sparky staff

Now first of all i just want to ask is it worth the trouble using a staff? like can an average person spin faster enough for it to have a good affect?

also I tried this last night i just rapped the steelwool around a staff and used wire to fix it to the staff but i couldn't get them to stay burning now i didn't use a great deal of fuel because the steel wool didn't seem to hold the fuel that well most of it just spayed everywhere i used 4 inch kevlar touch to light the steelwool and it seemed to be burn quite well but it didn't stay on fire for very long and didn't have a great deal of sparks either which was a bit of a let down.
I did a few test burns and the steel wool burns very well with out any fuel but i was only useing small amount of the wool seems to be harder to burn in bigger ammonts
now i was wondering if i used cages on the end so the steel wool would be getting more air and burn better and have a better spark affect?
or should i have a wich somewhere to keep the steelwool alight.

The best sparkle stuff I've seen is Tempest, Jo and Aidens Black Bush poi.

Maybe you could adapt the design to work on a staff.

Link to their thread is: -

and that's got a link to a page with some pics of the Black Bush containers they use for the steel wool.

yer i have looked at that just attaching it to the staff would be hard and i dont think it would get enough air with the other end beening blocked off witha staff.

ima not sure if black bush is sold in australia. When i ask for it, all the staff say is that they can't serve people who are on their 'do not serve this person' photo wall.

OH...MY...GOD!!!
just saw the MPEG demo of the Black Bush poi.
One word : AWESOME.
I don't drink whiskey (bad for my brain monkey)but how about a couple of the steel tubes that tennis balls come in?
Worth a try and a couple of hours experimenting at least!!

i guess the metallic danzka vodka bottles avaiable in melbourne could conceivably be jury-rigged for the same purpose.
