There's a [hopefully] regular twirling session occuring in Wollongong [NSW, Australia].

Where:
Market Square Park,
Corner Market St and Harbour St

When:
7:30ish Wednesday Nights

What:
Staff, Poi, Drums, etc.

Market Square is across the road from St Mary's School. Its the size of one block, so its pretty easy to find people. Plenty of parking around the side in Market Place.

We had about 7 people last night, + a guy with an awesome camera - photo's soon, and quite a few people stopped to watch [ooooh, ahhhhh].

And a good time was had by all. Thomas goes _off_, corksrewing, windmilling and extra beat weaving, all at insanely high speeds Far exceeding my own meagre talents anyway

Remember, anyone welcome. We had a few new faces, and a few others were sick. Of everyone turns up at the same time, it will be huge.

Fairy Meadow is a little beach suburb, just north of north wollongong. Home of the infamous monument to american ideals, the Northgate centre, which houses blockbuster, redrooster, chillis, McDonalds, a Pizza place and one of the those 'more than just a petrol station' petrol stations all in one convenient strip mall.

Yeah Fairy Meadow has a nice name but thats about it. Thanks Luke, I like how you do different butterfly variations. I'll be down there next week too, plus I'll bring my beamers (very painful beamers), I had heaps of fun last night, thanks.

I would totally get down to the Gong but I'm off to europe on Monday. I'll definitely try and get some friends down who I've introduced poi to.
I'll be back in Sydney in October and I'll probably stay for the summer so I'll definitely have to check out the fire scene in more detail seeing as I haven't really been home since I started spinning.

For those whove asked, yes, Wednesday nights in Market Square is still on, and going strong.

I've finally gotten around to applying for a photo account to post some images to. These are by Jake from our first night - mostly of Gav and Amanda.

Dan has taken some great shots from our latest night, and when we get more organised, I'll get them off him and post them too. Or let him post them. 150k of pictures? Miniscule. I've optimised them to 320x240, which is tiny, and highly compressed. If you want larger versions, let me know.

Remember, started by 8:00pm, Market Square Park, Wollongong, Wednesday nights.

Last time it rained, I was the only one there, so I twirled in and around the bandstand for about 1/2 an hour, and then left.

I then caught a cold.

yes, yes, I know allready.

I know its wet today, but if that rain looks like letting up, come along ^_^ It's normally more cold than wet anyway, at that time of night. The temperature change from sunset that normally brings rain is finished, and it often lets up for a while.

So unless its really pissing down, come along, or I'll make Gav do to you. He'll enjoy it too...

Some pictures have been uploaded of our very first ever night here. They are tiny, because I'd like to add more. And one of the thumbnails is screwy. No idea who the guy in the red shirt is.

Bandstand looks good eh? Hope to get some pcis from Dan soon. He took a few good ones.

Remember, wednesdays when its not raining
