The flowtoys people suggest using flowlights as handles, there's some vids up on their site of G using them, no throws though.

I kinda realised that but was distracted. Most ready made led balls are pretty big, to allow for batteries, circuit, shock absorbtion and light diffusion.

There are a heap of really small lights, some fairly sophisicated, that the glove light show ravers use (photon etc), I've never looked closely at them but if you could enclose one in a clearish casing I think it'd work OK for size and light but I don't know if it'd weigh enough to make a good counterbalance.

Obviously it'd depend on how much your poi weigh.

You could use flowlights in the flowmass to give them more weight. I haven't played with flowlights though so I'm not sure how much weight they actually add.

Like these? smile

I'm still trying to refine the design to get LOTS more light out but the concept is solid... I have all the pics for a tutorial on how to make them but until they're finished I don't want to publish it.

The design I've been thinking of would be to take one of the solid state PVC ball designs and reduce it to a single LED and a battery slot in a smaller ball. You wouldn't need anything more than a single CR2032 to run it for a fair length of time. The challenge, I think would be making the attachment point and battery cap secure enough.

HoP should make these. Just sayin'.

Flowlights w/ flowmass weighs a fair bit. Almost as much, if not the same or a wee bit more, than a pro series LED ball.

Pretty expensive handle, though.

Just regarding hyperlight's comments, I think you would have them drowned out by those. tongue
