2010 Staff Goals

Yeahhhhh, I love these threads... Another year, more goals, more awesomeness...

I was gently surprised by my goals last year, the completion and nature of them. This year, more solid goals:

1) Keep doing this stuff for another year without getting a real job.
2) Do not destroy my fire troupe.
3) Do the choreography and dance things.
4) Do the Hundreds. All of them, on video.
5) Try and do 1000 Matrixies for Children in Need.
6) Try and do something for the Fringe, indoors.
7) More floorwork.
8) Get some silly leg stuff solid.
9) Make a CJ routine
10) Make the post modern staffs.
11) Make the amazing machines routine... Damnit!

That sounds like a good lot of goals. Now I have to go and work on some stuff before 2010 rolls around...

I'm not sure how different this will be from last year's goals

0) Get a proper contact staff.
1) Get better at everything I know, and do everything both ways
2) Dance with contact staff and doubles
3) New doubles moves
4) Learn to connect contact moves without gripping the staff.
5) Get good planes with Buugeng.
6) Make a good doubles routine.
7) Make a good contact staff routine.

maybe this year I'll do some....

1. Actually get outside and practise
2. Matix....i HAVE to get the matrix
3. invent a new burn off
4. play more with angels, including horizontal and oppisiite direction
5. learn 2 fountain patterns with clubs
6. learn 3 new juggling patterns (clubs)
7. Snakes snakes snakes

1) Finish to build my Contactstaff for training and for fire
2) Learn many things with the Contactstaff
3) Improve my Doubles Skills
4) Get my routines out of the head so I can play them - Really that sucks if you listen to music and now what you should play and it looks that great but you are not able to do it
5) Start with 3-Staff Jugglings
6) Work more on Antispin Isolation Inspin Patterns
7) Start playing FeiCha
8) get better at dancing and acrobatics
9) Get Patterns out of my head in to real patterns
10) Breakdown tricks so I realize what I really do so I can improve it the one way and teach it to other people.

1) Get outside for more practice and improve my fitness
2) Get the basic contact moves solid
3) Achieve some rockin' throws
4) Choreography
5) Tumbling!!!
6) Transfer my visions into routines
7) Work on fluid transitions
8) Find what music tracks/albums work best for my style
9) Gain speed in my figure 8s and rotors
10) Light up the 2010 summer festivals and learn from some very talented people + the workshops there, acquire fire performance blessings at the safety meetings/classes on opening day (mainly GMSF where I got my start as a nice 1 year spinning anniversary celebration)

1) continue work with tripples
2) try taking 4th staff
3) need to get contact more solid
4) footwork, good point
5) combine doubles with acro and capoeira elements
6) different planes hybrids
7) meet other staff spinners at last

1) Either buy or make a staff
2) Start learning moves
3) Hopefully meet some other spinners or ones that are interested in it

Practice more than last year.

Ultimate roll. If i get that this year i'll be happy.

1) more groundwork
2) more stylish hand movement
3) learn to do handstands
4) learn one contact move I can do while hanging off a rope
5) work on choreographies and get more gigs
6) make a festival happen this summer (keep an eye out for 'Elements of Flow')
7) steal ideas from dancers

1) flash 5 staffs
2) do some juggling on fire
3) earn some money
4) not fail uni
5) doubles contact
6) spend time on performance over skill (don't like the sound of that)
7) fire

1) Pick up my staffs more than once a month.
2) Definately more than once a month.

Get some wooden poles and make some cheapass staves, 1 long one for singles, and 2 shorter for doubles. If I like it, I may upgrade to better ones.

My goals:

- Actually learn some double staff instead of just leaving the things sitting in the back of my car.

Ditto for contact.
Make some doubles.

already doubt very much i'll make that 5 staff flash, its really hard and big!

edit to solid four staff fountain.

- Perfection of the fishtails
- Make solo akt
- Make the new toys
- Make video with doubles

- practice heaps at the sjc
- dont look really out of practice at bjc

- Add single staff to my above resolutions, since I seem to have randomly been given a fire staff.

clean up my 7 staff cascade, work on 8 staff shower....

- watch tim marston do a 7 staff cascade and 8 staff shower!!!!

2) Fishtail Video for Seb
3) Make Staff emotional staff routine with minimal contact/spin moves more creating
4) More movement.. am thinking Body Percussion/Tap
5) Never play with poi again ever.
6) Some king of balancing ladder/double contact staff fusion
7) Stick Stick
8) Help people make Spin Fest happen again

It was my favourate

- Continue to spin when I get back home to the UK and the cold
- Try and organise some sort of regular meet in home town
- Build a new staff to replace my travelling companion

Pending the first 3 go to plan...

- Practice all existing moves more so I don't have to chase the staff arround so much when doing contacting and hopfully make everything alot smoother

- Possibly start with some doubles?

Do a flick on the staff.
Do a straight flip from it.
do a butterfly twist under it.
find more hand-to-hand stuff with the staff.

1.Try and learn some contact staff.
2.Baton Isolations.
3.Behind the head chest rolls.
4.Start Busking (CJ).

To perform some completely non-contact double staff.

I bought my staffs, so I got that checked off. Now I have to wait for them. Now my goal is, it's a very broad goal, but bear with me: Learn double staff. What to learn you say? I have no idea, I don't know any staff lingo other than contact, neck rolls, and fishtail.
