It's getting closer!
The Not Quite Pittsburgh Juggling Festival is only two weeks away -- and it's going to be a blast!
Special features this year include a workshop on 360s and 180s led by Jason Garfield at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and a juggle-art painting demonstration by Bill Roddy at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13.
The Saturday night show lineup features Chris, Danny and Andrew Hodge; Bob Nickerson; Aaron Bonk; Jeremy Stanley; Andrew Brown; and members of the Case Juggling Club and the Leave It To Beaver Valley Jugglers. Carla Phillips is the emcee!
Committed vendors are the World Juggling Federation, Penguin Juggling Props, The Golden Jester, All in J.E.S.T, Carla Phillips, the Quaker Valley Middle School Juggling Store and Brian Happie Foshee, who sells portable sound systems for entertainers.
The fest, sponsored by the Leave It to Beaver Valley Jugglers and the Quaker Valley Middle School Juggling Club, will run Friday Nov. 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Please note the 7:30 p.m. showtime, which is later than the time announced in an earlier round of publicity.
The venue is Quaker Valley Middle School, 201 Graham Street, Sewickley, Pa.
Fest activities Friday night and during the day Saturday are free. The show costs $2. We also are seeking donations to help cover festival costs. It
will feature lots of open juggling, games, unicycling, videos and raffles.
Sewickley is a quaint, historic suburb of Pittsburgh with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. If you have nonjugglers traveling with you, and they want to do more than shop and eat in Sewickley, they can visit the Andy Warhol Museum, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the National Aviary or the Carnegie Science Center while you juggle. All are within a half-hour's drive from Quaker Valley Middle School.
