I'm finally getting away from the angry vegan and dog infested house where I get shouted at for eating cheese!

Hmmm, I just recieved a $30 voucher from a caping store today. The catch? I have to spend at least $100 in order to redeem it. While I'm well aware of the fact that free shopping vouchers, memberships and discounts are strategies to keep customers returning, generally this only works IF THEY ARE CONSIDERED TO BE VALUE FOR MONEY.

Let's compare. Shop A (currently under fire) gave me a free membership with a 10% discount, advance warnings of sales, and freebies like the voucher above. Their 10% discount works differently: I pay the correct amount, and recieve a rebate at the end of the year equal to a tenth of the amout purchased.

Shop B on the other hand has a membership with similar benefits. I have to pay $10 to join, but when I did I got a $20 voucher - and immidiate use of discounts (5% to 25% depending on the product). I get further discounts on sales as well - in addition to the lowered prices.

*sigh* Rant over. I should get back to homework.

Good to see that my university has my interests at heart. And by that I mean WHY THE HELL DO THEY TELL US TO TRY SO HARD AND THEN GO AND STAB US IN THE BACK!!!

(Long story: I found out today that the next part of my education is so competitive that if I were to say, defer for a year for travelling, I might as well forfeit the last 3 years I spent there)

Actually it's not so much that I came back completely changed and they'd stayed the same so much as I came back to find lots of people getting married.

Oh, and I know about coming home from trips away having done it after living in Romania.

(some classmate I have to write a report with said she could do the calculations so I let het do those and I would do the shitloads of writing texts, now she couldn't do the calulations and i have to do em now >.>)

I moved house! I've been trying to find somewhere I could afford that was nice for about a year, after trying to live with angry vegan animal rights activists I had nothing in common with.. and 4 dogs.. really, the one who officially lived in the house (several of her mates basically lived there, just without paying rent) has been so horrible to live with lately, she was going to chuck the few things I couldn't fit in my car out on the pavement because I said I might be a few more days getting someone to help me move them, even though I'd actually already paid for another weeks rent..

I have no phone or internet, no furniture, and the house frankly looks like a crack den at the moment, but it's sooo nice to be out!
