Im looking for some fellow dutch spinners

welcome here! This thread was once buzzing with activity, but currently it is only just awaking from winter-hibernation :-). Do you speak dutch? Then this hyve is a nice addition to HoP and a more active place to find meetings...

Anyhow, there is definately some spinning activity in Amsterdam, but currently not too organised I'm afraid...

Ehmz, what might be a nice idea is to visit our lovely 19th of april meeting in Den Bosch. It's an hour by train, and over there you will find the largest poi meeting in the NL ever with around 40 spinners (newby to advanced)!

Actually you gave me an idea; Since I see / receive questions about spinners in the region of whatever more often, I'll create (for the 19 april meeting) a list for people to indicate that they would like to spin in a certain city more often, and give them the opportunity to get to know eachother a bit during the meeting.

Thats a really good idea^^. Maybe its nice to make some sort of digital map of holland with the names of all spinners pointed out on where they live. It would be a great way to find spinners in your neighbourhood .

That would be great. I'm sure there's loads more people in NL that would be interested but do not yet know of this forum and the hyve. Yep, I already joined the hyve but I'm afraid I can't make it the 19th.

What's your opinion on the best starter material- socks or tennis balls?

A pity, but with a fantastic amount of people visiting this time, I think a second meeting will definately happen soon!

And for starting poi... Well, if you are training yourself for fire, tennisballs are closer to chains with wicks.
If not; sockpoi are very pleasant to practice with and offer various qualities that make it easier to spin than other models .

there will be a goa party on june the 6th @ the beach at Den Haag with a pre-poi-meeting and a firepoimeeting at the party. Ill defenetely be there^^.

I’m starting up a circus group for people who would like to like to practice/play together: poi, acrobatics, hooping etc. It’s going to be at the University Sports Center in Leiden, every Friday evening starting from the 22nd of January.

I am french/dutch and most of my gear is home made I know some basics but It would be cool if there (still) is a place were people burn in amsterdam.

Hey, I just got to Utrecht and am looking for people to spin with either here or in Amsterdam, I spin poi and also juggle, I have met fellow jugglers who are all really nice but they say there aren't many poi spinners in Holland, so holler at me if you are one of the few spinners and lets spin!
