Just when my job started not seeming so bad, they've announced they're going to start staying open until 11pm soon- and I do the evening shift.. which would mean walking home through one of the dodgiest areas of town every night, as I'd miss the last bus- I need to find a new job, quick..

And I've just discovered I've been paying emergency rate tax for the last 3 months because the manager forgot about the tax forms. I wondered why I seemed to be getting so little money...

I've just lost my job despite having already handed in my resignation, no warning or notice. Is that legal?

I have had a job offer verbalised two weeks ago to start in November. Have yet to receive the paperwork. Getting a liiiiiittle antsy

Depends on your contract- I checked the small print on mine, and while I have to give them one weeks notice, until I've been employed there six months (and please let that not happen) they can fire me without notice... Go check, if it's not mentioned, they have to give you 'reasonable notice'- is pretty vague, but implies you should at least get *some*.. And yeah, I did check that was the same in NZ.

I HAVE HAD A HORRIBLE NIGHT AT WORK AND COMING HOME TO AN EMPTY FLAT AND A COLD BED IS JUST DEPRESSING ME!!!!

AAARGH, WHY ARE SO MANY JOBS AND COMPANIES COMPLETELY CRAPPY?!

(I'm getting so frustrated and disillusioned with my lack of 'career'... I don't want to be working in an office any more! I want a job that I actually either enjoy or care about, but I've only ever had one of those and I had to leave... *sobs*)
