*****Announcement 3 - Gypsy market****


there are a fair few people who are going to be selling clothes (hippy, goth, psy, weird etc etc), chai, african drums, jewelery (much of it handmade etc etc) etc etc so you might want to bring a bit of pocket money, cuz tipically this stuff is one off - you wont get another chance to get it - type stuff. CG doesnt do eftpos so you may need a little cash if you are the kind of person who likes to buy from people you know arent being exploited and love their work etc etc.

There is a cashhole at the Coles shopping complex at Newton ..approximately 5-10minutes drive from CG so if you are in really dire need of money to buy that hand spun hand knitted jumper you can still get it if required.

Morgan and I are going to bring a big ball of string and some random things and make art. If anyone wants to join in we could do a workshop... we do this kind a thing all the time, we have a mini teepee in our front yard that has confused all the neighbours...

If you want a momento of CG - remember to bring a T-shirt or something to screen print the CG logo onto! Even a piece of fabric safety pinned onto a favourite jacket (one of my persona favourite ways of using screen print stuff) looks funky in a punk / ferral kinda way. CG doesn't do merch - thanks to Gnor for DIY'ing it!

Thanks Hannah - I think there will probly be people interested in such things - I think there is someone running a macrame workshop too!

Fire wood would be good if its good wood, if its for the communal campfire - cuz we dont really want to use the pine we have on the campfire (smoky).

Misguided Oracle, there will be 20L of D60 available on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights (thats 60 litres of D60!) for usage in the 'safe fire spinning area' (we will have a designated fire spinning space, so designated safety conscious people can be in attendance and make sure things are safe).

Obviously - no fire spinning in the camping area, and no Fire Breathing AT ALL, ANYWHERE, at CG.

i can't believe it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close to cg time already!!! *squeeeeeeeeeee*

i leave friday morning, so it's only 5 sleeps for me!!! :bounce2:

Will there be anywhere I can sneak off to do fire on my own at all?... I tend to feel self-concious around the peoples. I do possess my own D60 for the occasion.

its a big place.. even though there's no fire permitted in the camping area (im correct in saying this, yes?) theres plenty of space to wander off from the main crowds to suit your comfortability.. its a great crowd though, so you may well find yourself comfortable right with all the other spinners..

I hope that'll happen, pete. I'm not one that likes to be on my own, usually but a backup plan for uninhibited whirling is always prudent.

I do indeed look forward to this event... I leave for adelaide the day after tomorrow! After spending the night with relis I'll be down there nice and early that morning!

Mother_Natures_Son, despite the casual atmosphere at CG we have to respect the limits on where we can set fire to equipment.
Getting a permit for any outdoor multi-day event in Australia is usually a big fat pain - let's do our part to not make it any harder yeah? you have glow equipment if you want to spin away from teh permitted fire zone. given the size of Sparkey's fire hoop last year, you'll get an idea of how much space u can have in the fire area

True, I have indeed got glow equip. I'll just use CG as a way to work on poi'ing around people.

I altered my handles on my fire poi... they were unusable double loops, now I've got single loops that I can actually use!

yeah open single loops are the key to technical poi throws. On sunday night i will show you the special spewmanti goon throw. no poi needed, but u might want a towel and some holy water.

I'm going to have to be doing homework at CG.

still, on the bright side, you will be doing homework while surrounded by nice wholesome company and Dentrassi.
