The responses I get from this range from 'You rule' to 'you need a life' (which in itself is a complement!)
I've been a film geek since the age of 10 due to reading and memorising the free montly magazines I got from video rental shop across the road. I had a version of the game in my head even before 'Kevin Bacon' as I tried to link every film to my favourite one at the time 'Aliens'. So the networks were already laid when 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon'. Though now I'm more stumped by my own success as the networks are too complex to navigate!

Surprisingly Joe I only own around 150 DVDs and about 20 videos (Boxed sets count as 1)
I decided years ago I would only buy films (and TV series) I absolutely loved. Otherwise I'd be flat broke.
Plus there are films I've read loads about but never get around to watching...
(It's the 'life' Mags didn't think I had that gets in the way! )

Gayle... Just like the films you like. Life's too short to root out the more obscure stuff. I have my fair share of guilty pleasure/unrepentant pleasure films.
If you do want to check out more obscure films, just buy a film mag like 'Sight and Sound' or 'Empire' (Or your Oz equivalent) or imdb!
Just beware that obscurity doesn't guarantee quality as the arthouse world is just as likely to offer up crap as Hollywood is...
