Ok peeps..
Firstly I would like to clear up any negative remarks/comments before I even start because I know there are countless threads on this topic but im not interested in the pros/cons of do's and don'ts.. i've read countless amounts and taken them on-board.

After scouting the boards practically ALL day I have not found a thread that answers my question..

So here goes..

Fire Breathing.. If you do it... what fuel do you use?
Thats all i want to know please.
ta very much

I've also read somewhere that you can use a dry fuel or powder, which isnt mentioned on that page. Apparently its less dangerous, but having never used it or anything, I cant really comment.

The powders tend to be less effective. Creating a rather dissappointing plume.

You can however use anything in powder format, custard powder, flour etc..

Isn't the point of a question to get an answer? Not just to say something. If the technical question has already been answered then what will benefit from asking again?

There's a perfectly chatty chat section if you just want to hear yourself speak.

I was only responding to this.

It didn't make any sense to me. It seemed to contradict the fact that you said you couldn't find any information if you're then saying that things seem to have been discussed.

Mr D: There is purified Kerosene available (maybe also in the UK) or odorless Kerosene...

Some call it "firewater", but I will not dispense the address here as i love this site and I don't want to promote their competition...

So please look it up yourself in googlygog

better answer?

I thought "Fire Water" was repealed and withdrawn from production after it being revealed that it was actually more dangerous than most varieties of paraffin?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I heard.

I Fire Breathe using Paraffin bought from a garage. Nice (relatively) safe stuff. Never ever use Colemans/White Gas, but I guess you'll know that by now.

Nope it's still available! Maybe do a search?

Haven't heard about that rumor - maybe you point us at a (peered) website?

There was indeed a fuel for performers called 'Firewater', which was withdrawn (in the UK)due to it containing taste neutraliser compounds which made it prone to people mistaking it for water (also, taste neutralising compounds are generally highy toxic).

However, confusingly, there were/are other products brought out later, which were/are also called 'firewater', including, in the UK, a fuel which was actually pure paraffin (used as aviation fuel, considered the best option for fire arts due to complete absence of toxic additives like colouring and taste/smell suppressants).

The lesson is, be wary of anything called 'Firewater' until you find out what it actually is- the name 'firewater' means absolutely nothing- it could be pure paraffin, in could be a concoction of poisons, it could be anything.

Thanks for that OWD, it explains why I've run into people swearing by it, and people who say "Jesus, don't touch that stuff!"
