Thanks Acciaio! I seemed to have forgot about contact poi while making this video but I think I have some neat new contact moves that I'm going to try and get on video soon. So keep watching and I should have some fun stuff up before I leave on Wensday.

are they home made poi? how did you make them? rope with monkey fists ? the shape of them reminds me of the amazing pair fluffynapalmfairy made that I always want to steal away whenever I catch her at a gathering

Yeah I like to pick all sorts of fun music to spin to.

My sock poi are made from mens dress socks. I use rock filled tennis balls for weight. After inserting the balll into the sock, I tie a knot directly above the head to hold the tennis ball firmly down into the bottom of the sock. Then if I am adding a counterweight I add one into the sock and tie it into a knot at the end for a handle. Then to finish them off I rubber band fabric around the head and handle to make them stick out more and to personalize them.

You know people always seem to love my poi too. It's a wicked good design that works well for pretty much every family of moves, except wibbles. I can get one or two but they rotate so quickly it's hard to keep them under control.

fairly similar idea to napalmfairys, but she used different weights, several pairs of tights(US:PantyHose) instead of sox, and many scrunchies (fluffy hair tie things) intertwined all over them.

It's the way some socks give that rope look-a-like chord section that throws me, my socks always just stayed in a cone shape, I guess they weren't thin or elasticated enough or something?

Did you tie a knot above the head? Thats what gives mine the rope look. If I didn't tie that knot it would stay cone shaped.

FNF's poi sound really neat. Hopefully I'll get to try a pair like that someday.

na, it's not just that, I've seen plenty without knots that go like that just something to do with the nature of some socks
