I saw it in Covent Garden a few years ago. I love Pygmallion and also the film with Rex Harrison. I found the play although true to the original ideas - the black and white for race day etc...it was just too long. Overall i really enjoyed it, especially seeing it lacked the energy and enthusiam of most musicals i like e.g. starlight express, cats etc. Only a must see if you like the story and film already, i think i would have been bored if i'd never seen the film and couldn't sing along...

...I could have danced all night
i could have danced all night
and still have begged for more
i could have spread my wings
and done a thousand things
i'd never done before.....

Mike, I'm with you on the Theatre front. More HoPpers should get out and support their local performers too...

However dont go and watch the touring Jesus Christ Superstar... It was rubbish

(my own personal opinion, and not that of Home Of Poi or any affiliates)

Just in case

oooh, i'd love to go. but i don't live in london :/

tis a shame. I usually go see stuff in NYC. Altho once a year at most as its expensive. I did finally get around to seeing Les Mis in london when i was there as its not playing in the US anymore (well, it is, but not on broadway...) which was wonderful...
Still need to see the producers.....

My Fair Lady bugged me a little, its a bit silly in my opinion. But there's much worse out there.

i love that show! we performed it a couple years ago in a theatre in inverness and i can honestly say it was the best show i did with that company.. it was so much fun in the cockney scenes because everyone one stage totally got into the spirit of it (as you do..) and the leading roles were played brilliantly. id love to go and see it in London or somewhere though...

Loki i usually prefer theatre performances to the films because its easier to get sucked into the plot, because its in front of your eyes not on a screen, if you know what i mean?

Mike - Lets you and I go to watch Obi Wan in Guys and Dolls...

I did that one a year or 2 ago, and played "nicely nicely johnson", the one who sings "sit down youre rocking the boat"

It was fun
