Swing wing video remake with hop-ers?

it's almost certainly the most amusing spinning video i've seen.

i think it would be fun to remake the video, shot by shot, with people from hop. you could split it into shots and get various hoppers from all over the world to film a shot in a similar looking location from the same angle as it is in the original. then send it to someone (erm ... me) to edit it together.

perhaps even try to get malcolm and the moderators to participate.

obviously it would require each person to have the time to make a swing wing, and video themselves using it.

anyone else think this would be a good idea?

There are 25 opportunities for people in the video. One scene has 2 people in (the boat scene) and one has 4 people in (the second-to-last scene). Please note that I have included the elephant and the monkey.

So, shall we divide the video up into 21 scenes? I would do it now, and put timeframes and stuff up for each, but I should be working. I might do it later.

argh, just tried making a swing wing and it's slightly more difficult than i
thought.

anyways, it would be far too easy to just video people at a juggling
convention with one swing wing. it needs to be people from all over the
world, all with different swing wings. the randomer the better.

not worth splitting up the video into shots just yet (but cheers anyway
puresock) until we've seen if enough people are interested.

i think it should be in black and white, and the titles stolen straight from
the video. anyone else got any other suggestions?

How could people not be interested, 2bags? They'll jump at the chance, I'm sure.

I can't decide whether the "classic" black-and-white approach is better than the "modernisation of the original" colour approach. Black and white would be a bit more true to the advert itself, and would allow title theft, so maybe that is the best way.

ive swiped some football marker discs from somewhere, so ive got enough to make two at least. i shall go out of my way and put a rediculous amount of time into it this comming week.

I heard of an idea of a poi vid where a poi is thrown out of the shot and passed to the next person in the next shot do a funky move then pass on , if that makes sense. The only prob is I cant catch a poi.

Well.. in that case the person could hand the poi off camera and you could grab it..

er ... haven't even made a swing wing yet. but puresock and
frodo are on the case. the thread was more to see if people
thought it was a good idea or not. if there's enough interest
then we'll split it up and start assigning slots.

If I didnt have other vids i should do in the 0 minutes a week I can dedicate to making vids at the moment, I'd be into this idea, I hope it works out 2bags - sounds like the laugh of the century
