The staff "I've just learned a new move" thread

I had someone show me the halo roll tonight, and I feel like an idiot. I have to move! Duh.

And I just learned the prayer steve, after much bruising and pain.

I'm back from fishtails and this is my list

2/3bt fishtails
fishtail carry over/negitive space thing
angel rolls are much better
fishie to angel roll
a couple different paths down the body

my brain is still trying to remember everything.

Hahaha Meg, you like took some fishtails and GROUND them into my brain. I meant back from FireDrums

steve into staff on staff, w/ a throw from staff back onto staff halfway

halo to behind the back under the arm catch into fishtail as the halo comes off your shoulder the opposite hand comes round back and under armpit to catch and take out into fishies

oh and conveyor with juggling clubs bloody awkward

kick up to fishtail... can do it on the right, but my left hand fishtails suck, so they need more work before the kick up.

oh... and I couldn't find a staff equivalent of the poi "what are you currently working on" thread... I was sure there used to be one, maybe I didn't look hard enough...

anyway... have been playing with square (perpendicular/parallel to the floor) shapes and as of yesterday, triangular shapes with the doubles... looks like there's some interesting possibilities there

YAY!! new moves... meg's new dvd arrived in the mail yesterday... and as of tonight... snes is my b*tch...

have also got half of forwards fishtails on the go, but I'll be buggered if I can get it going properly; although, that said, I went through exactly the same pain with reverse fishtails.

oh... and I can *sometimes* get a dodgy angel roll going...

I just nailed 4-5 continuous angel rolls!....i was too busy doing them to keep a good count lol

How do you angel roll continuously? Surely you have to either spin with your hands back to the start point, or stall then reverse the spin to come back down the other arm?

its angle roll and while turning you bring your arms together (kinda like the transfer in a conveyer where you pinch it) then bring the starting hand back up in the air.....prolly best to see it, i think meg has a video.....
