Bouncing off the walls excited

ok so i thought i'd post this is my thread, but since a lot of people can't get in it these days, i figured i'd post it here.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG (dammit why can't i enlarge the font to show how excited i am???) I JUST DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST POSITION OPENED UP AT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE COUNSELING CENTER IN LAS VEGAS!!!!!

ok i'll stop yelling now.

you have NO idea how exciting this is. i was planning on moving back to vegas in august as soon as i'm done here, and i really want to get a job with a college counseling center, but i'd rather stay in vegas so i'm willing to take whatever i can. but the fact that this is opening up (positions at college counseling centers are insanely hard to come by) is just fate, i swear. i match ALL of the qualifications except that i'm not licensed yet. they want a licensed psychologist or eligible for licensure by 6 months (i won't be for minimum a year), but i figure i'll apply anyway cause you never know what could happen. i have a strong history in working in college counseling centers, i have excellent background in outreach and prevention programming, and i WANT to live in vegas! what else do they need???

ok so i'm a little excited about this. i never dreamed an opportunity would come up like this right now, i didn't think i'd get a chance to do this for a long time. and i'm not trying to get my hopes up too much, but just the fact that the opportunity is there is just so awesome. i'm bouncing off the walls. i already filled out the application even though i have LOADS of paperwork i should be doing

ok, i suppose i should calm down a bit and get back to work, but i just had to share my excitment with all of you!

what's really cool is this place is now trying to get an APA accredited internship set up there too, which is something i wanted to do because there are NO internships in Las Vegas, not even non-APA. there is only one internship in the entire state of Nevada and that's in Reno at a VA hospital.

plus, if i get this, and get to start the internship, it'll be an excellent building block for my long-term goal, which is to open a multi-disciplinary women's resource center.

ooooh, so hard not to get too excited about this!
