i used to swing my staff real hard to make the wick go out but my staff flew apart when i was spinning at a festival and a bit of it landed in a beer tent 200 metres away now i just play with it till it goes out just in case

I can;t use the gold club tactic... my staff just doesn't go out when I try it.

I usually wait for one to go out and then smother the other.
But by god does my staff burn for a long time... :-\

i put both wicks out before they go out on there own. Helps keep wicking in good shape and cools it down faster

I mostly just start spinning very quickly, enough for fire to go out

mmmmh - 'guess... I like to see that burnt armpit

I do that with a long staff. My armpit hugs roughly above the middle of the staff - clear away from burning wickness

Doing it with short doubles could prove smellingly hilarious.

for it to work you have to spot your wicks, if one seems to start to gutter a bit slow down and wait for the other to catch up, if the same amount of fuel is on each wick they should last about the same time do it when the flame is weak

I often use it to light my other fuelled up staff, and then put the flame out...

no reason to stop, really.
