review of innercore staves with contact friendly handles :)

i've pestered and pestered until i managed a yes from concentrate with regards to producing a set of innercore staff handles that are thin/flush with the rest of the staff, as opposed to the contoured grip that is presently avialable.
this should be good news to those who had qualms about not being able to contact twirl a staff that had contoured grips.
hey this is crazy - one year ago i'd be scratching my head (amongst other hairy things) if you asked me what contact staffing was. Now we wider recognition of a sweet family of movement.
huzzah. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
**updated with initial impressions
The handle still features essentially the same locking mechanism. sweet.
They still are quite compact when broken down, backpack friendly! (friends get surprised at festivals about where i pulled it out of)
the handles are completely flush with the aluminium ends.
the length of the grip has increased - this will create more traction for contact staff movements
comparison of the contours of innercore handles
set wick to wick, the handle of the newer staves reaches farther.
comprehensive review to follow.
Sadly, these cleans wicks gotta burn...
here's a fishtail with the smooth grip...

erm i'm one of those stalky customers that Callum seems to tolerate - I'll drive over to his once i can drive again and fun will ensue.
before the revised innercores went into production, i was lucky enough to have a twirl with a prototype (at confest) with the new locking mechanism with a non-contoured handle, and it felt niiiiice, so at the very least it's assured that it's been applied before..

dude, this forum is one of the few places i can drone on about the joys of staff without people complaining to me: "what's fwirling mean?" and "please take your hands off my buttocks"
i have contacted concentrate and if anyone's attending Common Ground and reading this, you may stroke my staff then. :flutters eyelid:

I've had mine a week now, and it's absolutely wonderful! Strongly recommended. Spins nice, great balance and looks good. With some white electric tape to mark center and grip, it looks like a poisonous snake. Great!

I don't find the contoured handles are a problem when it comes to contact. But then I'm pretty bad at contact staff, so this could be why Bender - please take your hands off my buttocks Thank you

And Bender, please take your hands off my buttocks. I'm not sure we've actually met, but even so...

I'm actually thinking of getting one of these as my 2nd staff... yeah I probably should be making my own especially since i know people who are willing to teach me how to do it. But i figured that this makes travel easier (not that i do much of it, but never hurts to be prepared incase the local mafia comes looking for me ) Anyway, I'm still not sold on how short the grip section appears to me. So I have 2 questions to those who use this staff: Is the grip really long enough for contact? and how much room for error does the percieved short grip afford? I'm still suck at this, so room for error == good...

I've just been told that it feels a little too bouncy for contact staffing. any comments?
