great videos thanx to everybody involved in shooting, editing and sharing...i know the whole process of getting a vid out there can be a time consuming pain, so big ups to all the homies putting great stuff out there...

my contribution for now (before i post a video of all my submissions to the Jedi Council Move Arbitration Committee, aka JC-MAC, to be filmed when it gets warmer around these parts and i can go play outside again) will be in the form of technical ftp support i suppose...

if you can connect but are getting timed out before receiving the listings (ie your ftp client logs in but then you get an error message that takes forever to show up before being able to see any files on the server) chances are you can remedy the situation by looking in the preferences for your ftp proggie and disabling in there anything that says anything about passive connections...

meaning a non passive connection is what you want to have (since this particular server does not seem to support passive connections).

hope this helps, at least if that server ever comes back up...obviously if you have the wrong ip address you won't be able to hit it or log in at all...

It would be helpful for you, flid, to donate that space, as the computer that my ftp is being run on is the only one in the house, gets used constantly, and my connection has a dynamic ip (that's why the ip keeps changing). The reason the ftp has been down is it is quite limiting on what my family and I can do while it is running. My firewall has never been on while running the ftp, so no conflicts there.

*edit* Also, if people post here saying they want the video, I'll put the ftp back up.

The problem could be the firewall. My logs show you're trying to log on in passive mode so that may also be the problem.

Ok, if anyone has an problems downloading them, I've mirrored a few on my server in London. The connection speed is 100mbit, but due to being pretty much skint I can only donate 10gb of transfer this month, so when its used its used. Link is:

If you have a dynamic IP that changes a lot you could try using a dynamic dns name from http://www.dtdns.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=info.hosts that way when your computer changes IP you just update it with a little program on your computer and people just need the name which wont change.

took me a while but i got em too.

Just checked out flid's site for the first time. Fire 1 through 4 are made by me, just a compilation of some of the movies I have. They are all the same file, just different sizes to compensate for different download rates.
