I have a HDTV . I have a HDTV compatible Video Card (I think its that one).
What I dont have, is the knowledge of which video output from the card will give the best picture for the tv, both on the desktop, and when playing WoW.
Do I go for the VGA D-sub? The S-video to RGB? or the DVI to VGA convertor?
I could go out and buy a DVI to HDMI cable, but I dont know if they exist, or where to get one
Any tips guys? What will give the best resolution/ colour?
I have tried Wiki-ing "DVI", googling "DVI VGA S-video comparision" etc, but to no avail.
Thanks guys

I try to never shop at PC world. Its over priced, the people who work there are mainly clueless, but worse than that, the didnt give me a job there!

VGA and S-video are both analog whereas DVI is digital. If you keep the connection in digital you are going to get a better picture because it's not going to be converted from digital to analog and back again.
According to google, you can get DVI to HDMI cables - PC world would be a good starting point, as the price will be close to online prices, unlike a local computer shop that will rip you off big time!

Sym, PC World occasionally have good prices on some items, but on consumables and cabling they are AWFUL.
15 quid for a firewire cable? F*** that!

Fair point - I did say it would be a good start - not a good place to buy one...

Cheers Sym
This is the place I get all my computery bits from as it is based about 20 mins away from my dads house. Its the cheapest place for bits I have ever found pretty much (ebuyer may have been cheaper).

Which one do I need? I only need it to be 2m long
I reckon its a HDMI MALE TO DVI-D MALE FROM 2.0M I need
I will probably goto pricerunner.co.uk or kelkoo.co.uk and have a look at the prices there.

This one seems to be the cheapest one I could find.

That looks good to me I'm not sure what connectors you'll need on each end - you're the one with them right next to you

bah, you shouldn't have bothered jonny. the whole analog\digi difference maybe technically true, but will it be vaguely noticeable? and it all gets converted to analog between the screen and your eyes, innit?

What? You actually paid £60? Why not just get it online?

I couldnt be arsed to wait. And they know that they are the only "computery bits shop" around (except for PC world) so they hoik the prices up, then offer to price match within a 10 mile radius.
